mmmmm, think of the stuff that Nintendo's internal art staff/designers can do with some proper horsepower . . . . I mean we've seen a nugget already, but it makes me wet

Can't wait to waste my money on this thing to I can play the next generation of Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, etc. only to end up loathing them all because of some stupid bullshit wacky user interface/control scheme.

I really with Nintendo would get out of the hardware game and just develop and publish games for all the other major systems. Mario Galaxy 3 PS3 ftw.

    hey cool opinions, they yours?

here's a handful of the rumors btw, including chatter of new IPs internally from Nintendo:
    - between ten to eleven Nintendo published retail games to be shown for Wii U at E3
    - third party games to be shown as well
    - around 70 Wii U games are currently in development from a variety of publishers
    - Nintendo will be publishing/releasing four Wii U games of their own before the end of 2012
    - considering pricing Wii U lower than they want to
    - big wave of 3DS and Wii U software this holiday season
    - Nintendo has at least three new franchises in development for the Wii U, coming from various studios

sounds like the same bullshit rumors being peddled when the Wii was in development. 90% of those 3rd party titles ended up being garbage games.

what's bullshit about that rumor? It doesn't say "around 70 fucking mindblowing Wii U games are in development". Also, nobody said that even half of them will see the light of day. It's always like that but it helps to create buzz.

u kidding? launch lineups are notoriously garbage save for 1 or possibly 2 standouts. studios have had the least amount of time to get accustomed to hardware, control methods or system features

Of course they are, but some consoles do a lot better with launch titles than others, and it shows in their sales, and more sales right off the bat leads to more sales down the road.

Can't tell if you're in opposition to something here or not, mate.

I mean I know games shouldn't be garbage, ideally they'd all be magnificent.

yes lol at me. a console's initial sales strength is WAY more heavily influenced by launch price. but this isnt an arguement about nintendo anymore really. I acknowledge that the WiiU launch lineup will probably be a couple interesting standouts floating in Lake Underwhelming

I do know that the Wii U version of Arkham City will be at launch, and that will be my first time playing that game, and ive read that they are doing fucking awesome shit with the tablet controller. AC3 might also very well launch on 360/PS3/WiiU simultaneously, and if that team has done cool shit with the controller, I will be getting the WiiU SKU for sure
