I tune everything out and overdub something interesting in my head. But that goes for all conversations.

I'll usually tune it out unless I hear the words "and you were in it"

I usually react the same way I react when people start threads with, "Holy shit i just had the greatest idea."

That is, I listen, but with skepticism and doubt :p

No, because usually someone's dreams are more interesting than their actual life.

Your mind makes it real. And it's often entertaining to hear about.

    Wow.

I can't phrase this right. I want to say "there's never been consequetive posts more metaphorical for art vs science on this forum" but that isn't quite right. Fuck it I'm going to bed.

    Well...

I honestly listen usually, because I'm very interested in dreams, and because all of my friends are fucked up, and we all have fucked up dreams.

Unless it's from my roommate, who's dreams are generally something like "I was being chased by a cardboard cutout of a cheetah dude, it was fucking nuts!!" Then I tone out, and insert 'ohs' and 'i sees' and 'wows' where necessary.

dreams make horrible stories, mostly because most people are horrible story tellers and go at it like a shopping list of "and then we went to the park and then there was this guy and he was like "holy crap you have a pie for a beard" and then I was like running down a bridge and then it fell down and I fell into the water but it was actually a crayon and then we all gave Kurt Russle a reach around and then i woke up"
