I had to leave a few songs into Weezer's set because my future mother-in-law got in a car accident, and then my fiancee spent the night thinking I was going to cheat on her with the girl I went to the show with. It fucking sucked, bro.
At least you saw Perfect Situation right? Wasn't that awesome? I can't remember if Say It Ain't So was before Why Bother but I hope you saw that too.
By that time, the girl and I were so far away near a set of bathrooms (we needed to use our phones) that I couldn't see any of that. I heard it, though!
Agh. Sorry man. I wish there were more videos. I will definitely send you the official bootleg when it's made available (unless you'd rather not revisit that night or something)
pretty much. i feel like if the rivers of 1996 heard himself singing "beverly hills" he just would've committed suicide after pinkterton came out
or, if the you of 1996 heard rivers singing "beverly hills" in the future you would've killed him after pinkerton came out?
no, because i can just ignore everything they released after that and go on with my life. i think he would have thought "jesus, this song is completely vapid and i am above such a blatant attempt at becoming a rock star. to prevent this i will now pull a cobain and will henceforth be known as a tortured genius". imagine that!
He still writes brilliant songs, he just has no idea how to put only good songs on an album it seems. I dunno how Blue and Pinkerton are such flawless albums. They're truly miracles.
I just like to think that after Butterfly, Rivers really just never "came back". It's really heartwarmingly tragic to think this way. *bittersweet emoticon*
It pretty much would be the best career closer song ever. I truly do think that this band does have the stuff left for one more brilliant album though. And when they do make it, it will be one of the most bittersweet feelings ever. The Spider is just as sad and amazing as Butterfly btw.
You really are a fucking moron, you know that? Rivers goal as a musician since day 1 has been to write catchy pop songs. He says it all the time. There is nothing wrong catchy pop songs, and there is nothing wrong with anything post Blue & Pinkerton. The only album I can even throw shit on is Red, everything is chalked full of great songs. I mean, really, some of you people just blow my god damn mind. You're such ignorant, megalomaniacal cocksuckers when it comes to music. I'm willing to bet half the dipshits in this thread that trash Maladroit, Green, Make Believe, and Raditude haven't even listened to the albums once through with an open mind. I mean, really. omg rivers ur such like a giant loser faggot, i cant believe what youve done. you've only released numerous albums with songs that are in the same vain as pinkerton, your most critically acclaimed musical contribution, like omg ur so gay becuz u sangf about going to beverly hills nad partying. i cant beliv dis. omfg. you like sold out, and you suck now. sure.ly there songs like burndt jamb, death and destruction, hold me, the other way, and girlfriend have absolutely no emotional value, and are devoid of the poignancy on pinkerton. also the melodies suck, and you're fat and have a beard. omfg. get a bullcut again rivers then i will luv u 4ever. like omg . plz
srsly though weezer are not that terrible and do not deserve hate. (a few songs, maybe, but not the band.)
Chrono, you're arguing with metalheads who have absolutely zero taste in music whatsoever. What album should I check out next if I like the Blue Album?
Pinkerton, and see if you like the Green Album. If you do you have a chance of liking their later material (at least some of it) as well.
Pinkerton is the favorite. Honestly, I would recommend that first and foremost. But Maladroit is also excellent.
I've been listening to Green a lot lately. Simple Pages and Smile are awesome songs. I love the outro to Simple Pages especially.
Crabbbbb if you want her sheeeeee won't be comin down (down) DOWOWOWN (DOWN) dowwwn (down) dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn CRAAAAAB IF YOU WANT HER SHEEEEE WON'T BE COMIN DOWN
that outro fuckin' ownz. the other high point on Green is probably O Girlfriend. I like a lot of the b-sides from the Green era better than most of the album tracks though. Teenage Victory Song, fuck yeah.
You ever heard Sandwiches Time or the Burning Sun snippet? Burning Sun sounds just as good as the first two albums imo. Super great. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKccVqi4TQE"]YouTube- Weezer - Burning Sun[/ame]
