RIP Edit: The reason I am posting this is because I never really noticed this thread since I never come into the Archives. So I'm saying RIP now.
just found this.. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqFT-_xj3Cw"]YouTube - Stuff That Mark Liked[/ame]
I could use your advice right now, Mark. Or I'd settle just to have a funny conversation. I really wish you were still here.
I never had a conversation with Mark outside of the various incarnations of the forum, but I always respected him. I often think of our argument about The Dear Hunter, and how I thought Casey was obnoxious with too many puns and Mark thought it was literary and wonderful. He also spent more time debunking my debate tactics than actually addressing the topic RIP
I was just reading the "head for notes" thread and laughing my ass off at some of VG's comments. Then I interpreted someone's sig saying that he had left this place which bummed me out...and then this thread. RIP, nice guy and all the rest of it. I still don't get Marillion, though.
Christ, this time three years ago the accident had already happened and Mark was lying in hospital oblivious to the void his passing was about to leave in the hearts and minds of those lives he had changed in sometimes small, sometimes huge, always meaningful ways. Mark, I never got to know you as well as I would have liked, and I'm not alone in that boat, in fact it's quite crowded in here, but I'll never forget how you changed the way I approach lyric writing, and songwriting in general as a result. Rest in peace, you're weilding the divine sword and shit for real now.
Yeah - I was just thinking about Mark the other day and re-reading this thread.. almost started crying at work. Hope I meet him in Heaven some day
