I'd say it's mostly brilliant. season 2 episodes 8-16 are pretty awful but then it comes back reeally strongly imo. Best series finale ever

Season 1 is awesome and so is season 2 until it starts flying downwards in episode 10, then it gradually picks up again around episode 17-18 (still with too much filler content though). Then the final two episodes are FFFFUUUUU.

One of the fucking coolest things about the second season is how Windom Earle is at first kind of an over the top silly character (the disguises and whatnot) but in the last 3 episodes or so, he turns into one of the show's most frightening characters. When he kills that teenaged kid is when I remember thinking "holy shit, what's happening?" Maybe nobody else will agree with this but I thought that set the tone for the last few episodes really well.

The part of the show I consider terrible is the stuff with that moron cop that is like a character from the 3 Stooges, and the airhead receptionist at the police station. Then there's the girl who was friends with the girl that got murdered, and the biker guy that has a relationship with her, and that godawful, worst-scene-on-television part where he plays a song for her and some other chick. All that crap is so distracting from the good part of the show and it was bad enough I almost dropped the show because I couldn't bear watching it.

The log lady was the best part of the show. Holy shit I wish they made an entire show about her.

Yeah, all that Andy/Lucy/Dick-drama, the stupid biker guy and Donna, Ben Horne's civil war-arch and Nadine thinking she's a teenager again-stuff is fucking bad and should have been left off.

Log lady and that guy who couldn't be in the sunlight were some of the best minor characters on the show, with the obvious exceptions of the man from another place, the giant and BOB.

I feel like you guys are forgetting easily the most blatantly awful arc in the show where Billy Zane shows up the fuck out of nowhere and Audrey falls in love with him

Good point. That was kinda (really) forced.

Cooper and Audrey had so much more chemistry. The last arc of the show would have been just that much better if instead of Heather Graham appearing and acting really wooden and boring, we got Audrey being the one in the trouble. It fits more with Cooper's pathos, loving someone he shouldn't and blah blah blah.

Agreed to both above posts. Had actually completely forgotten about Billy Zane, and Annie was an incredibly dull and unnecessary character. Then again, the show was pretty much as they went along, so it's not surprising that there's a lot of fluff and lull.

lol, watching the pilot of season 2 now. it's so obviously Lynch-directed, it seems to completely fall out of the general scheme. they could have at least kept a general continuity in style.

Seriously, I just want Lucy to die. She's like that self-important little girl from Full House, except even more annoying.

You'll get sick of her in season 2. And by the way, the first episode of a season is not called a pilot. Only the first episode of a series is.

you know, the concept of this actually works really well if you saw the movie first. it's simply amazing how things slowly unravel.

Damn. Probably 3-4 years since I watched it. Should re-watch it soon.

Maybe I'm the only one here, but one of the things I really love about Twin Peaks is the humor, especially the scenes centered around deputy Andy, the favorite being when he's hanging up a poster and instead gets his hands tangled up in Scotch tape. And of course there's this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uWbxG0HBGE

yeah, that part gave me chills. Lynch is such an incredible director. i think it's funny how other directors tried to 'immitate' his style during the course of the show. also, i think it's pretty crazy that Jack Nance was only 47 when he played Pete in this show. he looked 60 at least.

I'm watching the pilot right now [well paused to take a food break] but goddamn, that first sequence of scenes is so fucking well-done. From when the bird shows up until it switches to the restaurant. If this is any indication of the quality of writing, directing and acting of this series, I know I'm going to love it.

I also didn't make it through season 2. The disc from Netflix was scratched but I really wasn't digging the show anymore so I didn't bother getting a replacement. I was in love with it when I was watching season 1, though. I'll get around to it some time... I am definitely intrigued by the idea of finding out more about Bob and the Black Lodge.

There are plenty of flaws with the last few episodes I didn't notice on first watch... but that final episode still fucking kills.

Why the fuck couldn't Donna leave this show? Cripes she sucked.

Started watching this show recently. I'm watching episode 12 of season 2 now and I'm extremely bored. I heard the last few episodes are awesome but fuck I am not interested in any of the plot lines since episode 9.

After they reveal the killer, the show blows until the finale. I would just skip to the last episode and fuck the middle/end of Season 2.

You guys forgot the most annoying part of season 2. The plot were James (the biker dude) had an affair with that blonde lady Evelyn and she wants to make it look like he killed her husband. That was seriously the most uninteresting shit of season two. Apart from Ben's insanity and the Civil War stuff.
What I loved about season 2 was Lynch himself as Gordon Cole. I found his scenes really hilarious.
What I found most annoying in season one was the whole Cathrine/Josey saw-mill plot. I didn't give a fuck about it, and Josey was really uninteresting.

I used to like Twin Peaks, but they got rid of 2.99 shots of Jim Beam, so now I go to Redneck Heaven instead.
