I have never seen anything on Fox that I would say is any more "absurd" than a typical MSNBC story.

I always saw MSNBC and Fox News as both biased towards their parties. However, I do think that Fox News is way worse and extreme in their level of bias. Fox News is pretty much 24 hour Republican propaganda.

Yeah, if NBC is just as biased, then they are much better at covering their tracks. FOX has been caught too many times meddling with their own information. Remember the time they were trying to report on OWS "riots" in one of the northern cities, and the video they showed had palm trees in the background? And wasn't there a time when they were found to have used digital cloning to make a Tea Party rally look a lot bigger than it actually was? I think what NBC did with the tapes is similar, but at the same time, NBC at least took steps to fire the person who did it, while FOX didn't even own up to the fact that they did it.

Can't believe ppl are actually debating whether FNC isn't the most biased news network in the history of news networks.

I agree. FNC is a horrible company, and should be removed like a cancer.

best part is the photo album, which consists of 2 photos supporting zimmy, one of them being that graffiti that was sprayed on some black studies lecture hall haha. i seriously doubt someone who potentially faces murder charges, claims he's misunderstood, claims not to be racist, and claims to be in hiding in fear for his life would put up a photo that says LONG LIVE ZIMMERMAN in the first place. if this is really his site, he deserves whatever happens to him.

edit: George Zimmerman’s Website Seeks Donations, Includes Photo From Vandalized Black Cultural Center (UPDATED)

My coworker says Zimmy is giving a presser in a half hour but I'm not sure where she got that info, I see nothing in the news about this.

Bud felt neither. A calculated and logical maneuver on his part. However, in Zimmerman's case you're point is absolutely valid.

That your point was valid. Though I was only joking about the prospect of him offing himself, anyway.

I was just pointing out your typo, I get what you were trying to say.

Zimmy's lawyers speaking now...they are butthurt over his site and are claiming they lost contact with him. Fumbling and bumbling through basic statements. Keystone Cops these two.

Damn this one lawyer has no filter whatsoever. He basically hijacked the press conference and is throwing jet fuel onto the fire, totally lashing out at the media and the public. He will be a Fox News star/killed in no time.

Yeah, that press conference was very cringe-inducing. But I've gotta tell ya, this doesn't look very good for Zimmerman.

I guess the question now is, will he come forward or stay in hiding and try to evade prosecution?

I wonder if he disappeared because he knew these charges were coming?

My guess is that if they bring charges, it'll only be to prevent rioting because they know a jury will never convict him. There's no reason to stay in hiding.

Yeah I think he will come forward. His lawyers have probably convinced him that he is on safe ground as long as SYG laws exist (or existed when he committed his crime). I believe the main reason he fled was due to the death threats, not because he's scared of getting charged (I doubt he'll get convicted). I agree with 000jesus that they are charging him to stave off nuclear racial war. Show trial of the century.

It would be awesome to put racial profiling on trial itself, leading to police reforms across the nation. Perhaps the only good thing that would come out of this.

They need to make sure the jury is fair and unbiased. I'm sure they will be all black.

2nd degree murder charge. Smart move, will make it even harder to convict. Hopefully the arrest is enough to keep the mob satiated.

That's the only think I can think of. There's nothing about this that seems to fit the Florida statutes for murder.

The prosecutor did say that a homicide did occur and that is a fact, not an opinion. The fact that it's murder 2 means she believes it is unjustifiable. She must have access to a lot of evidence we don't. Imagine that.

Well obviously a homicide occurred, but that's not necessarily a big deal. Homicide does not equal murder. The law in Florida states pretty clearly that murder in the second degree has to include a depraved indifference to human life*. Don't see any evidence of that. I'm inclined to go with your first theory, which is that she's throwing a fast ball high and inside so that he'll walk.

*There's a second form that's completely different than what we have here, which is more akin to felony murder.

I would say killing an unarmed boy constitutes a depraved indifference to human life, but what do I know.

If they were fighting and Zimmerman is pegged as the aggressor in the altercation, and that altercation rises to the level of aggravated assault, then it would definitely qualify as felony murder. I have a hunch that there is either evidence or eyewitness testimony that has not been made public.

I'd considered the felony murder angle, but just don't see it. For it to have been a felony assault, he'd would have needed to have the weapon out before hand with the intent to use it, and then we'd just be talking about plain ole premeditated murder.
