Regardless of the 5/8 popular opinion in this thread, I enjoy the show. Yes, sometimes the inter-character drama gets a bit too much, but I think the show fully captures what a zombie series should be like. I think some people have just grown insensitive to what the show tries to do, which is put you in the mind state of the group by having lengthy, extended sections where they are exchanging information or dealing with 1 on 1 conflicts. Without these, it would just be a survival series, in my opinion.

I don't think that's what people have problems with. They have problems with the writing being shitty and the characters being poorly written, and arbitrarily retarded to move the plot forward.

And most times that arbitrary retardation doesn't even move the plot forward.

an abortion-performing zombie and Rick blowing two dudes away for a flinch helped me not hate this episode as much as i probably should.

i mean, i fucking slow clapped when Rick wasted them. it nearly brought a tear to my eye. :clap

so much unnecessary drama in this show

still not sure what's going on between daryl and carol. just as many idiotic moments as the previous one, but also some good ones, to be fair

If there's one thing we can count on, it's T-Dog staying as far away from any action or plot advancements as possible.

oddly enough i actually really liked last nights ep.

there's still a bunch of "are you serious?" dialogue moments (such as the last scene already mentioned), but shit is actually happening now so it's easier to forget about/gloss over.

i'll probably watch it again before next weeks ep, and my opinion might change then, but right now this was one of the best eps of the season (admittedly not hard to do).

Just caught up. This show is a lot easier to watch when you get over the fact that it won't ever be as good as you thought it would.

lets start a pool on who gets bit next.

oh all the Andrea/Laurie interactions was awesome. "just make sandwiches Andrea." haha.

and all the suicide jargon was laughable, everyone is stupid.

i thought all the interactions Shane and Rick had were pretty good though, and the new kid...wouldn't be walking so soon but whatever.

i was yelling at Shane to go out the back from the first seconds of the ep, but again, whatever.

i think there must be a gas leak in the entire world at this point, because they're all slow as fuck and take and hour to make decisions that are painfully obvious.

Compared to the rest of the season this was probably the best episode because LOL ZOMBIES AND PEOPLE IN DANGER USING KNIVES AND GUNS TO SURVIVE.

Kinda ironic that the amount of zombies in an episode is directly proportional to the quality of the episode.

also rewatching the "you killed the living to protect what's yours" line made me guffaw.

but, in a way, what she's saying does make sense (about Shane being capable of doing what Rick did in the town to "protect what's his").

it was pretty heavy handed and melodramatic...but...okay.

I think that Shane has been infected via scratch in the newest episode. He dies in the comic, and he's a meathead douche, plus there was that scene where him and Rick discuss how the two dead cops or whatever they were didn't have bites, but they had scratches, so I think that will fall into place, somehow, sooner or later, (hopefully sooner if it involves Shane becoming a zombie and Rick hate fucking Shane's skull with his .357 python of might. Just speculation, at this point, though, will edit after I find out what happens.

I think this one was one of best episodes to come out, recently, because Rick finally laid down the fucking law. And I noticed that T-dog wasn't in a single scene, he didn't even have a soliloquy-esque part like most of the character's get, or at least a 1 on 1 conflict with another member of the group.

welp, that was something i didn't know.

i kinda figured they wouldn't have mentioned the scratches if it wasn't coming into play soon, but still. :colbert:

maybe write in the spoiler tags if it's a spoiler from the comic that hasn't happened in the show yet?

show has broken form from the book to such an extent that it doesn't matter in that respect, but it's still certainly a spoiler for those who want to read the GN

I'm pretty sure this show (or just the writers) is/are racist. Are they incapable of finding ways to include a young black man into the narrative? It's embarrassing.

I'm pretty divided on this show. I can't say I ever really loved it... I'm annoyed by it a lot of the time, but there's something about it that keeps me coming back for more. I guess it's hopes that shit gets interesting. They need to get off that fucking farm and go into a city or something and slay some walkers.

Really? T-Dog's lack of involvement was your first clue that they're racist? It wasn't the fact that they named him fucking T-DOG?

Apparently the new showrunner has promised to make things move faster, and that the slow burn aspect that so many of you seem to hate was more a product of Darabont's involvement.
