I figured with all the talk about the PS3 and Wii, we needed to show a little love for the first next-gen console. Discuss everything 360 related here.

Lately I've been hooked along with all of my friends on Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. Superb multiplayer, even if the method for finding games isn't the smoothest (I much prefer the way Halo 2's matchmaking worked). Also tried the Rainbow 6:Vegas demo last night which is for online multiplayer. Graphics weren't that nice, but the gameplay looks like it'll be awesome once I actually learn the controls and experiment with different weapon combos.

Really looking forward to playing Gears of War, but I've decided to hold off on getting it until the semester break (figured it was in my grades' best interest).

gamertag is Bill Christ for anyone else on Live....

Yep, download the demo on XBOXLIVE, it is very cool. Dead Rising is awesome and a good display of the system's power (100's of zombies on screen at once). If I had money I would buy:

    Gears of War
    Splinter Cell
    HD-DVD Drive
    Maybe the new Tiger Woods

:tup Ghost Recon is fucking awesome. Defending one base with unlimited enemies for an hour is great fun in coop

Been playing Gears of War, and it's a great game. Also tried the Superman demo, and it's official, they made a fun superman game.

The superman demo was meh. It's kinda like GTA though, lol.

Anyways, Gears of War is fucking incredible.

I'm also playing Oblivion and Tony Hawk's Project 8

I had Dead Rising and got very bored with it really quick. It also sucked that the text was so damn small I couldn't read anything.

Welcome to every 360 game! :lol
They design them for hi-def, and on a normal TV, you can't read shit.

Well certainly a demo would get boring... but did the Demo make you want to buy the full version?

Yes the demo gets old because it is such a small portion of the game. In the final game you will be able to be Bizarro, go around fighting tornadoes and meteors, fight Metallo, etc.

Yeah, but it was twice as bad with that game, and since most of the information that you needed to know what conveyed in text, it was fucked.

I definitely plan on picking up a Wii at some point. I was on the fence, but once I heard about being backwards compatible in a sense all the way back to the original nintendo I knew I would get one

Ill buy one when the price goes down. Or when there are a lot of good games out. Whichever happens first.

I'm actually surprised Microsoft didn't drop the price even a little for the PS3 release... even a $50 drop woulda take the $400 stigma off the full version and made the PS3 look even worse

I'm guessing they're trying to hold onto their profit margin.

If the Wii and PS3 are hard to get the 360 will probably sell well to parents trying to get a system for their kids begging for a Wii or PS3. A price drop probably won't be a big helping factor for them if especially the PS3 is in short supply with high demand. Microsoft has deep pockets, but not limitless pockets.

You know, I got all the "good" games, and I still don't play my 360. I got CoD2, Fight Night, Tomb Raider, Gears of War, Dead Rising, and Saints Row.

    Addicted to WoW.

I would disapprove of the 360, because it's only killer apps are FPS's or Dead Rising, which I've watched far too long and I NEVER WANT TO SEE AGAIN EVER I HATE THAT GAME. *breathes* It makes me a little...angry. The sheer number of people I had to watch play that game and not realize how utterly terrible they were at it really baffles me. It's a very, very simple game, if you keep a schedule, learn your way around, powerlevel a bit, and always have a fuckton of alcohol on you, but everyone I saw play that game failed entirely to grasp those concepts.

However, Live Arcade has some amazing games, most notably Lumines. If not for Twilight Princess compelling me to get a Wii, I'd probably get a 360, because Gears of War + Lumines = instant win.

    This thread is useless.

This console is 1 year old. It lost its wow effect.
There's not better consoles than Japanese consoles. :smokin

Oh, geez... it's probably made in China just like the Wii and the PS3. There are no American or Japanese consoles... ;P

I actually bought the Xbox 360 a week ago and I'm completely surprised about the games and the graphical quality seeing how some of these games are a year old (Kameo for example). Before I bought it I thought the games weren't really appealing. But then I bought Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo and Chromehounds because they were on discount when I bought the console. And now I just love this console.

And I've found out how great some of these games are. On my list to buy is:

    Gears of War
    GRAW
    Tomb Raider Legend
    NBA 2K7
    Splinter Cell: Double Agent

And in 2007 I will get completely owned by Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Lost Planet, maybe Halo 3. And if Hideo Kojima reasons with himself MGS4. But that's just wishful thinking.

No. It's just a video, but you still get to see what an amazing job Bioware has done. I doesn't look rendered, so I would assume it's ingame. Anyways, just check it out on Live Marketplace.

    Quick question:
Can you play old XboX games on the 360?
    Without doing anything to it?
Cos my teacher said one has to download some shit in order for the games to work,
but I dont believe him since he's my teacher :D

    short answer: yes

long answer: yes but because the graphics chips are from different companies it's not simple like the PS2/PS3. First off you'll need a hard drive to play any xbox games and your teacher is right, you'll need to download something so the 360 can actually run the game. Also, it won't work with every game, slowly microsoft is making more games backwards compatible according to popularity, except for games also appearing on 360 (i.e. madden 06 or 07)
