I envision this thread as being a one-stop resource for videos of Sarah Palin being an idiot. I know we've been posting a lot of these in other threads, but I thought it wouldn't hurt if we had an official one whose title wasn't issue-specific.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRkWebP2Q0Y"]YouTube - Sarah Palin Can't Name a Newspaper She Reads[/ame]

Also welcome: "Sarah Palin's so dumb" jokes.

    For example...

Sarah Palin's so dumb, when she read on the Vice Presidential Candidate job application not to write below the dotted line, she put "O.K."

    Sarah Palin is so dumb.

    How dumb is she?

She's so dumb she thinks being near Russia gives her FoPo experience.

    Jesus Christ, she is dumb.

But you know... over the past week I've spent a lot of time watching Sarah Palin videos and thinking about how stupid she is... and I haven't really taken the time to watch videos of Biden. This video reminded me how awesome he is.

It looks like she is struggling to come up with enough buzz phrases to fill her answers.

Biden had some dumb things to say too. Violence Against Women Act? That's pretty stupid. Violence against anyone is already illegal.

He was asked which Supreme Court decision he disagree with. The court struck down his "Violence Against Women Act", and he disagreed with that decision.

That interview was pretty bad on both parties. Palin didn't have a clue what she was talking about and Biden needs to learn how to shut the fuck up. He did do better on the second question though.

I think his excessive use of verbiage and extraneous loquaciousness is going to be Biden's Achilles heel in tomorrow's debate. He will talk for hours and Palin will slip in with a one-liner, which, despite all her other forms of communication, she's alright at.

You know, if I were interviewing Sarah Palin, I wouldn't let her get by so easily.

curbyourentropy: Governor Palin, what newspapers do you read?
Sarah Palin: Oh, all of them, really any news source that we uh, have...
    curbyourentropy: Which ones specifically?
Sarah Palin: Oh, you know... any that I can get my hand on, and in Alaska we--
curbyourentropy: Right, but can you name a few?
Sarah Palin: --we actually have a lot more access to things than people might think, because, Alaska's basically a microcosm for America...
curbyourentropy: Uh huh. Yeah. But, back to the newspapers... which ones do you read?
Sarah Palin: People have asked me, "Aren't you afraid you'll feel cut off from Washington D.C. up there?" and I just say...
curbyourentropy: Okay, seriously, Governor Palin? Shut the fuck up and answer my fucking question. What... newspapers... do you read? Or, really, just name a newspaper. Any newspaper at all. Just one. One newspaper... so that you can walk away from this interview knowing that you actually managed to answer a single... fucking... question. Please.
Sarah Palin: Well, like I said, I do have an immense appreciation for the media and I think what they're doing is important to the overall umbrella of shoring up the economy...

and then I'd slap her and leave.

at any rate, my point is, I think journalists need to really start calling her out on this shit right then and there.

I know Katie Couric often wears the deadpan "what" look on her face, but it fits so well here.

Unfortunately I'm going to miss it... I'm going to a concert in Philadelphia.

I'm not too worried, though, because I know that everyone's going to be covering the shit out of it afterwards anyway. And that's the only really important part of these debates... not the debates themselves, but everyone's reactions. Unfortunately.

also for "like" and "whatever" when used out of context. ie. no drinks if she says something along the lines of "I'll do whatever I have to do in order to fulfill my duties to the American public, even if it's something I don't like." Of course she'd never say that.

I reckon we might be disappointed. Palin will do better than expected and won't make any horrendous gaffes. Biden will probably make one or two minor ones as well and the pundits will call it a victory for Palin.

But of course I'm hoping for an utter trainwreck that kills the McCain ticket.

Sarah Palin plans to go on the attack in tonight’s debate, hitting Joe Biden for what she will call his foreign policy blunders and penchant for adopting liberal positions on taxes and other issues, according to campaign officials involved in prepping her for tonight’s showdown…

“This is going to finally put her back into a position where we see her like we saw her the first couple weeks,” a McCain official said. “She was herself. She was authentic, and people related to that. … Tonight, she’ll get into a rhythm. You’re going to see her in a way that you haven’t seen her yet.”…

tldr: she's gonna not answer questions or address specific policies, and will work off a script.

This supports the idea that she doesn't know how to answer questions about herself but she is beyond competent when it comes to tearing other people a new one:
    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122281636354892281.html

So maybe some of you guys are right... maybe the only reason she founders in front of Couric is because she has no backup mechanism of dissing her instead of answering the question.

I think we might even see the temporary re-birth of Palinmania (at least in the media), but it will be a flash in the pan again. Of course, that won't stop Obama supporters from freaking out about it.
