Awesome haul, :tup for The Snake the Cross The Crown.

Can't comment on the first one, but Coldplay are decent and there is some great tracks on that, such as Shiver. Coldplay albums as a whole don't really work for me, but something like that has all the gems and none of the bilge. 4/5

As for me, a mainly 5/8 inspired haul:

    Rodrigo y Gabriela - Re-foc
    Cephalic Carnage - Xenosapien
    Augury - Concealed
    Apparat - Walls
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul

I felt the need to rate my own haul. Both pretty much blind buys, both were well worth it.

I bought that FFAF album, and then gave it to the guy who worked at the guitar store, on the contingency that he gave me free strings.

    This was a necessary post.

Floating World is a solid 4.5, because there will always be something missing from there cd's...the live performance. 4.5 is as high as they can get, because i can't help but remember how fucking awesome they are live, and how the cd isn't as good as that.

Blood Inside may one day acheive the coveted 5/5, but it's not there yet.

can't agree more, and most of those were like $2-$3. Their Bargain Bins are gigantic, and even their std used prices beat Cheapo which usually gives you a great bargain to begin with ($2 for an Oceansize promo once for example)

I can copy Thrust for you if you want. I have the CD so you don't need to worry about the lossy nature of burning mp3 to disc.

My favourite Zorn release and one of my favourite albums of all time.

And Zorbo: I don't burn or download CDs...It's about 14 dollars at JB, I'll pick it up eventually. How does it compare to Head Hunters? Superior? Same?

Thrust is often severely overlooked, as it was released after Head Hunters - which meant Thrust was a lot less shocking and superficially less innovative. It's excellent, but I think Head Hunters is better.
