I watched the Sixers beat the Lakers last night, and it was quite enjoyable. First regular season NBA game I've watched in probably 8 years. Something wrong is happening to me.
Before the season started, Orlando/Chicago/Miami/Atlanta/Lakers/San Antonio/Clippers was called "death row" by our coach since it was a string of great teams. So far, the Sixers are 4/5, only losing to Miami (and beating the Bulls by 16).
This season I realized that when the nba is pretty exciting when you dont watch the lakers, heat, celtics, magic, and all of the other teams with overpaid divas who only care about padding their stats. Yeah, I'm on the knicks and timberwolves bandwagon.
I like how the media calls him Chinese/Taiwanese-American so as not to upset neither China nor Taiwan.
Every single one of my chaiwanese friends is going nuts about this chink. Is he the second coming of Buddha?
it's called following the entire sport. sorry but I'm not obligated to root for the "home team" because I don't have a favorite team in any sport except for college football, and it's only because it's my school.
ESPN has released a statement on the headline. It reads: Last night, ESPN.com’s mobile web site posted an offensive headline referencing Jeremy Lin at 2:30 am ET. The headline was removed at 3:05 am ET. We are conducting a complete review of our cross-platform editorial procedures and are determining appropriate disciplinary action to ensure this does not happen again. We regret and apologize for this mistake. mistake? misspelling someone's name is a mistake. calling the first asian-american NBA player a chink can't be anything but intentional.
pretty impressive that they still managed to score 92 and then beat the spurs by 40 the day after but fuck, we're still pretty bad
