>Willing to pay Vernon Wells 24 million a year over 4 years >Not willing to give Mike Trout more than $20,000 above league minimum >Angels front office
Yeah it's spring training and it means nothing but the Phillies line up is looking really good so far. Can't say the same for the bullpen though, they're getting fucking rocked.
Oh I get the business aspect of it. I just think they should have thrown him a bone. I know I would have
It's amazing how quickly people write off this team. They still have the best starting pitching staff and with Utley and Howard healthy, their line up isn't half bad. Not to mention that Dom Brown looks like he might finally do something this year.
Eh, maybe I exaggerated a little, but Roy looks fresh and if Lee can get back on form I don't think it's much of a stretch. Hamels is going to dominate.
please just die in a fiery crash. you have fucking delmon young manning right field. your entire infield in in decline. you have exactly 3 starting pitchers, and it is unfortunate for you that they cannot pitch every single inning. you are fucked this year and i would be amazed if the phils finish above .500
You sound like a 12 year old playing call of duty. Not sure how we can do this without you fagging out when I win, but I'm willing to put money the phils being over .500.
>best starting pitching staff >Utley and Howard healthy >Dom Browm looks like he might finally do something this year I'm as big of a Phillies homo as there is, and even I know that none of these statements is true now, nor will they be true within a month of the season starting.
How can you argue Howard and Utley not being healthy? Dom Brown has been killing it so far in Spring training too, he's been hitting the ball well and drew 4 walks in a single game a few days ago.
Seriously, besides the starting pitching comment, literally all I've said is that the line up is looking good in Spring training. Get more mad, you worthless infant faggot.

Not to mention Jeter still hasn't played. The Yankees always find a way to win, but right now it's not looking that great.
lol the A.L. East is the Rays' to lose now. There only contender would be the Jays, but it seems like the last few years, no matter the team, when they spend a shit ton of money they flop.
Orioles will win the AL East. Mark my words. Make sure you save this post so you can quote it on September.
it's a better rotation than the pirates. it's better than a lot of teams'. it's better than a lot of people think it is, actually.
Yeah I would take Tillman over Chen too. Seriously Chen was really shaky towards the end of the season. If he pitches like that regularly he's a #4-5 edit: he had a 5.05 era in sept/oct. He'd be lucky to have a job if pitches like that for a whole season.
the thing is, most of those guys did not pitch a full year (or close, really) last season. but their rates all look good, so it will be interesting to see if they pitch that well for a whole season. also, no one outside of texas cares about the nolan ryan stuff.
basically, the owners have diminished his role in the organization but keep saying they want him to stay as president, but ryan feels like a figurehead. i haven't read anything new on it in a couple of days, but here is a good summary http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/sto...ture-jon-daniels-ceo-hall-of-fame-rick-george
cardinals making all of the right moves. Craig just signed to a 5 year deal. If we can just figure out how we are gonna deal with the problem at SS it's gonna be a great year.
I disagree. There are some solid pitchers there, but none of them are great, or even very good. Add to that one of the flukiest 1 run game records ever (29-9), it's a mathematical certainty that they'll regress. If you put all the best closers in baseball on one team for an entire year they probably wouldn't go 29-9 in 1 run games. It's insanity. They've got a decent lineup, a decent rotation, and probably a good bullpen again. That's not going to win you much. Luckily for them the AL East is wide open this year.
Yeah that's not bad. I'm not so sure about his continued success, but 6m a year to lock him up just in case he is this good is brilliant.
