Football is such an amazing sport it's just so amazing watching the amazing athletes with their amazing talents and amazing fundamentals.
I'll give the bugger some credit - he knows (or used to know) how to spank one in from just outside the box, given enough time and space. But then again, given enough time and space, I can spank one in from just outside the box, and I'm worth about 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000035 million pounds.
He was fantastic in the air at newcastle, as well, so I'm HOPING that we might see a bit more of that now that gerrard's back and he can give him some good delivery. Charlie Adam does have about two or three incredible passes a game in him as well. I don't see him ever linking up really well with Downing or Maxi or Kuyt. Suarez I can see, but they haven't really been given a good run together. I know as well as you guys that he's been a terrible purchase, so far, but I think people forget that he was the best performing british striker at the time, apart from Rooney, at only 22.
I hope so. If he is ever going to fulfil his potential, it's not going to be on the bench. Plus we just played a big game against City, there'll have to be a few changes.
Sucked? Were you guys watching the same game? He certainly appeared more prominent in the last ten minutes when he had Bellamy and Kuyt in support, but he was the main reason we were getting a look in for most of the game. Won almost every ball in the air, put heaps of pressure on the defenders, linked up play a few times - not to mention he played a huge part in both goals.
Dude, he did not win almost any ball in the air... In fact the commentators were mentioning how a guy his size was losing almost every ball against Jonny Evans
Well I mean every honest ball, obviously. Can't recall him losing any actual battles with either centre back. Here's a video I found of his game That only shows his touches, though. His movement was a class above what it has been (though obviously not first class), and his pressure was excellent.
