    Fuck you, asshole.

Actually, I can totally understand hating some Philly fans. There are definitely some ignorant, stupid ones out there. That's true for any fanbase though.

I think it's just Philly fans' way of sublimating the shame they feel because they like teams from Philadelphia

No shame here. Hockey is the only sport I really care about. I'd much rather stick with one team and live with disappointments than to jump on a bandwagon.
It's nice to see "heart and soul" guys return in the playoffs, like Laperriere did last year.

it's a universally accepted fact that philly sports fans are the worst, any other city can be bad, but not philly bad.

lol Boston doesn't give a fuck about hockey compared to other sports. Sure, lots of people do now because it's the playoffs, but normally 90% of the city couldn't tell you if the Bruins won, lost, or even played that night.

In the actual city of Boston people are all about the Celtics and Red Sox. In the suburbs the Patriots are top, followed by the Red Sox. Bruins fans are a distinct minority, and most Bruins fans put them above all other Boston teams.

In terms of demographics, I think Bruins fans are most similar to the diehard Patriots fans (guys who were out tailgating in the snow in the early 90s when the Patriots were the worst team in the league).

I guess that was another point I wanted to make about Boston.. bandwagon fans who are only on because the Patriots don't play and the sox are just getting started. Once baseball is in full swing most of them will be like "Tim Thomas who?"

There is a sizable core of diehard Bruins fans. Of all of the teams in Boston, I think that core is the most loyal and passionate.

Going to a Bruins game is like going to a metal show, except all of the black t-shirts are replaced by black and gold jerseys. Most of them don't even look like sports fans, but it's just a very working class, dedicated fan base.

The non-diehards will not be in attendance (in any significant number) for any of the finals.

This is true for almost every single franchise in the NHL.

    Notable exceptions include...Canadian teams.

Not just Canadian teams, but Canadian fans. I know a lot of die-hard Boston, Detroit, Philly and Colorado fans. They don't stop talking about their teams at all, all summer. Of course I know way more Leafs fans and Canadiens fans, who are far more insufferable, but hockey doesn't die here for any team.

I can understand hating Philly fans but I don't think "bad" is a good descriptor unless you're just saying "asshole". Philly fans are knowledgeable and loyal for every sport except basketball around here (and that's picking back up). There are definitely a bunch of bandwagon Phillies fans right now but it's no more than 10% of the overall fanbase.

winnipeg getting their franchise today at 12 est. they won't realign this season, so one year of pain in the ass trips for southeast division lol.

This is going to be a crazy series. It all comes down to Timmy.

I'll say Canucks in 7. Kesler with Conn Smythe.

I guess, but they should have compromised for a 6 or even 5:30 start. 5 fucks up our traffic hardcore, when everyone leaves work an hour early to make it home in time.

I agree. I was actually surprised at the start time. I assume they did it so the news could still be on at 11 pm.

I think it is just the network (NBC in the states, right?) not giving a fuck about west coast viewers. Same shit happened with the last world series and San Fran (5 o'clocks starts).

Thomas did not deserve to lose that game.

This reminds me of Giguere and the Ducks.

I might have misspelled GIguere, but I am drunk and won't look up the proper way to spell it.

Fuck Torres for scoring the GWG though. I still hate him for his headshot on Marleau back when he played for the Oilers. He looks like he doesn't even know how to play the game.

rags will over pay him and store him after a season when he doesn't deliver. can't wait.

though you never know, maybe winnipeg will want to make a splash and sign him under new money to draw fans.
