At the moment I am writing an article on the silence in Raymond Carver's 'What we talk about when we talk about love'. I think it's an awesome topic, it's just been done to death. There are about 100 articles online that are pretty much exactly what I am required to write.

Also, I once had to write a 2000 word essay on the banjo scene from Deliverance.

Sophomore year of hs, we had to critically analyze either an album or a film. It was really the teacher's plug at his own class (Critical Aspects of Film), but he had pissed me off earlier in the semester so I decided to make this paper very thorough. I wrote a 25 pg paper on just about every lead change in SDOIT.

5 most important music albums of all time and why.

Had to do this twice (got a good grade on both but failed the year), and my top album was King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime by Faith no More the first year, and Ocean Beach by The Red House Painters the next.

This essay, which began as an English class assignment to write in response to Hamlet, in relation to modern society, and ended up as a pseudo-astral dadaist dreamscape mishmash:

    (tl;dr: just read section 3)

Background: written from 12am to 6am on the day it was due, this piece is interesting in that one can clearly see where the writer was drifting in and out of consciousness in the middle of writing.
