Travis, it would be so cool if you could get a good rate for a lot of these peepz at your hotel. Not that I wouldn't like to have posters over at my house, but the sheer numbers of people confirming now has me slightly overwhelmed with the prospect of that many people, much less people I have never met before, staying at my house, lol.

wow, this thing is really in motion. But if I found a way down there I would be cool with just crashing wherever, and hitching a ride back up the next day. Also, IDK about where we should do the chilling part, but a place where we could drink and grill up some grub and maybe have some portable ipod speakers and not worry about noise would be sweet

    I don't blame you.

I figure maybe I'll house a few people who absolutely can't afford a room.

We can watch movies or something.

    I need a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE favor.

If everyone planning to attend the Lancaster part of this meetup minus the Lancaster posters themselves could PM me their RSVP.

I also would like to know if there is another fiveeighter(s) that you wouldn't mind/want to bunk with.

I ask this because I need an approximate room count and I don't know that we'd actually need thirty. And if you room with someone that also decreases what you have to pay for your room because you get the opportunity to split costs.

I'm sure this is kind of a pain in the ass but it would help me a lot.

Again, a room with two queens can hold five people and for more comfort you can get a cot.

A room with a king bed can hold three, same with cot.

Thank you in advance if you take the time to do this.

also, Travis-- it doesn't have to be exact. If you only get the number of rooms for whoever RSVPs (or maybe one or two extra), the worse that can happen is that more people come to Lancaster than RSVPed you... but I'm sure we can house the overflow in our houses still if we have to, you know?

No, the funniest thing is that he actually WAS studying for an Arabic exam last night and he probably actually was too tired to notice what he typed. It's just the perfect accidental (I think) alignment of details.

Let us know at which airport you're going to arrive so we can arrange to have you picked up, or if you take a bus somewhere closer, we can get you from there. Whatever you'd like.

Hopefully as this thread progresses we can get a list of arrival times if people plan on using public transportation/airlines so we can arrange to pick up people in groups.

Well I'm looking at flying into Newark Friday morning and coming up with Elii and LTD. Unless a flight to Baltimore or Philly is cheaper.

It would save a lot of expense if you were able to carpool from Newark for anyone who would have to drive to Philly or Baltimore to get you, unless you can arrange a carpool from one of these cities, too.

Lancaster people... How are we going to manage getting everyone if there are multiple points of arrival? Or is everyone pretty much either driving themselves, going to Philly, going to Baltimore, or going to Lanc. Train Station?

Either way, how many people in total WILL need transport? We only have so many seats between us all. I wonder if Jon would be able to lend his van in this endeavor.

Those are like the only three possible points of arrival, aren't they? I figured three of us could handle them, one each.

Will that be feasible though? Will only 4-5 people be arriving at each spot?

ahh I see what you mean. I don't know, I guess we'll see. For some reason I just don't think it'll get any higher than that, tbh... but if it does, then we'll have to use bigger vehicles or take two vehicles to whatever place has too many people arriving.

That's why I said that I hope people can post their travel arrangements. It'd be extra cool if they took a bus ride or something from their airports into Lancaster to make them easier to find. People going should try to plan it so that their arrival times are similar/they carpool with other users etc.

    OK since I appear to be travelling the farthest, here's an update on my situation;

basically, it looks like there is a seriously limited number of flights available from my airport (I can only find one) and it doesn't get in till mid-afternoon on the friday. obviously I'll keep checking into that, but I'm very un-flexible as far as flight times go.

ideally, a lift from BWI would be nice, but if that can't be arranged then I imagine there are plenty of public transport links and all that. is it worth checking out flights to philadelphia international? would it be easier to get a lift from there?

A lift to NYC would also be nice...if anyone wants gas money that's cool, I'm thinking of putting aside about £700? The flight will be around £500 which leaves around $300 for the weekend, that should cover food/booze/gas and some random activities right? Also, in the event that cars are full, is it feasible for me to get from lancaster to NYC without a car?

As for sleeping arrangements, I don't even really have a house right now so I'm up for sleeping anywhere. hotels, floors, shared beds, cars, whatever. I'd be grateful for somewhere that doesn't cost anything though ;)

If I can do it I'm going to drive myself. I guess I'll need housing. If you guys are too crowded I'll go to a hotel. No worries.

My ability to make it to this is all based on when our house sells, though. We'll see.

It'd be nice if you could be available for being picked up from either BWI or Philadelphia International sometime Friday morning, as the meet-up is going to be starting in the early afternoon.

Hopefully we'll have enough cars for everyone to carpool up to NY, but if not, there's a train station in Lancaster that can take you to NYC in 3 hours. A ticket costs $45.

Not sure exactly, i'll look into actual plans in a week after my finals are done -- but as I said..something kinda similar to what we did at twins in 2006. A bar/restaurant where we can like basically rent out an area. Have food served, drinks (for those over 21, hopefully open bar), and music being played.

....Or we could just go into times square and start a memefest

Serious update: Both the timing and cost of this event are very workable for me.

I plan on coming provided that I can get picked up from Dulles Intl Airport (D.C.). Flights look like they would come in early afternoon. There are only 2 seats left on the return flight :(

Josh, I know you've said that you can't really commit to any rides until the event gets near, so I'll just keep watching flights and checking this thread. Other D.C.ers - let me know if a ride to PA would be possible.

I know she's moving in to her new house and I don't want to interrupt.
