FUCK I have no money for this. It will sell out before I do again. My roommate might buy it though...
It's really not that great of a deal when you consider that the LPs + EPs are probably worth like $50 max. That leaves $75 for unlimited TDH shows in the future. Every time I've seen them it's been like $12 tickets, so that's about 6 shows. I've already seen them 5 times, I'm not sure if I really have all that much desire to see them 6 more times. Don't know, I'll probably still buy it though just to support them.
I would buy it for sure if I knew that they would definitely come to the UK, but alas, it seems like a pipe dream at this point.
oh man oh man to do this or no to do this shit fuck I have such little money and no job FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Damn. Sucks that some of the guys left but they still have a lot of the core people so I'm not too worried about how it will affect their live shows. I know the studio stuff will still be The Dear Hunter, as he said, regardless of who really records, so it's all about the tours. As long as the new people they find can play the parts and sing harmonies and have fun doing it, it should be all good.
My response too but thats because I have no idea how he'll manage to pull off the color EPs successfully.
Uhhh... some people didn't read the last update properly I guess. From the details of the 'lifetime membership' thing: Act IV is next on the list, and I've heard from other sources that the whole colours thing has been put on hold at least for now. Casey wants to get the whole Dear Hunter story (i.e. up to Act VI) done at the moment as far as I'm aware.
Six Acts will happen no problem, the nine colour thing has been pretty vague for a while now so who knows what's happening with that, but why so negative?
yeah... im not tooooo excited. I know Casey writes a lot of music... but 9!!!! EP's!??! No way they're going to be consistent.
Seriously... It's a cool concept if it was over a period of time, but 9 in one summer? That just doesn't make sense.
Money and time says that that's impossible. The only chance they have of this happening is if they stop touring entirely, quit their day jobs and work solidly on music for the entire year.
I would love it if that happened. Maybe they've written a fuckton of music while they've been touring?
This concept was announced nearly 3 years ago, it's not unthinkable to think that they've written 9 EPs worth of material for this concept during that time span, plus the studio time they'll have set aside this summer.
Ahh, fair enough. Well, it's totally possible then. I fucking hope it happens, as I've not hated anything Casey has been a part of (except for Mi Fa Mi, which I just don't understand the hype of).
Act III LP just arrived in the post. Late I know, but I really love this album and I thought it would look and sound great on vinyl....which it does. Cream vinyls and sweet gatefold.
I couldn't believe how good this vinyl sounded when I first got it. Whoever mastered it for vinyl did such an excellent job.
Sooo what's a good Deerhunter album to listen to? I saw them for like 20 minutes at Coachella and I'm interested.
Not trying to say don't give DH a shot, all their music is great. Dear Hunter is my fav but i always listen to BTHATS...
