lol, dramatic much? He says they re-shot "one moment of fun before the first mission" and yet that makes it "not the film I wanted it to be"? Christ. The guy is going to make SO MUCH money on this, no reason to piss on about one sequence. It's a dick move by Disney but surely Whedon didn't think he'd get complete artistic freedom.
And here I thought this movie couldn't live up to the hype. Opening saturday, all screenings were sold out and I haven't heard an audience having such a collective nerd-gasm in years.
Seems fairly legit, and when I search I don't see another twitter account for him. I think it just doesn't have a huge amount of followers because he has a weird username.
If it was legit it would have a blue check mark beside his name. Anyone can make a twitter with a celebrities name. Helen Keller is an avid user.
To expand on my previous post now that I'm not posting from a phone, this easily my favourite of the superhero films, the pacing as previously mentioned is pretty much perfect. It certainly didn't feel too long or too short. I wanted more, yet felt satisfied at the end, like a good meal. Whedon's handling of ensemble casts is masterful, everyone had just the right amount of screen time/action/jokes/character development and the humour is top. The Hulk completely steals every fucking scene he's in. A complete joy from the opening scene to the closing credits, everything I wanted it to be.
spoilers: yeah it was pretty good, I like how every character's personality was true to their original movie.. and their interaction was awesome, especially the fights between thor/iron man, thor/hulk, the visual effects were astounding and completely mind-blowing But yeah, i thought the hulk was going to get some kind of epiphany, especially when stark told him to embrace his power instead of trying to avoid it.. but instead he just controlled himself out of nowhere (although it's true his attention was focused on the bad guys.. and he did hit thor) and his little secret, he's always angry? bitch please, that doesn't even make sense, if you're angry all the time, people would notice.. thing's different if you can control your anger other than that, I deeply enjoyed it, probably going to see it again in IMAX
This has already raked in $175 million internationally this weekend, and still has to open in the US, China, Russia amongst others. Crazy.
Without spoiling, are you talking Avengers-related or superhero films in general? Are you saying better than Nolan's Batman films + the Spider-Man trilogy?
That's very much a matter of taste, but I want my superhero films to be FUN above all else, obviously with some tension/drama in there too, and this was perfect for me. Easily better than any of the Spiderman films, though the Nolan Batman films are too far removed from this type of film for a direct comparison, but yeah I enjoyed it much more than the Batman films. Just thr right amount of fan baiting without
i was expecting a good movie from all the hype, but a funny one...not at all. I genuinely laughed like a kid, and not even comedies that i enjoyed have done that for me in years. The Hulk was some sort of closeted comedian until now. Joss Whedon really pulled it through, because i hated Thor, Ironman 2 was meh, and no Hulk has even come close to what they did here. Way beyond my expectation for this movie.
I guess the great word of mouth is also playing its part. And rightfully so. It's a great, fun movie. Sometimes that's all you need! And indeed: Mark Ruffalo = awesome! I actually wished he had more screen time.
Going overboard. Sorry, I think I may have been about to have sex and/or dinner at that point so I posted unfinished.
I got 2 free tickets to see this thursday. Probably wouldn't go but the free popcorn & drink sealed the deal for me.
Popcorn and drinks are so fucking expensive now. I really think paying 8 bucks is reasonable, even $12.50 for IMAX is pretty cool if it's shot in IMAX. But paying $12 for a bag of popcorn and two sodas is ridiculous.
Fuck the entire United States. My ticket for this film? £11.80, just over $19. Not IMAX, just regular 3D. That's normal prices here.
Saw this last night, and it was indeed awesome, funny, and epic. I'd love to see more movies like this, but they must be ridiculously expensive to make, between all the actors and the special effects/shit blowing up.
you dont need to sneak stuff in here. i bring my own candy and drinks like a boss and no-one gives a fuck.
According to this article the budget is estimated at around 220 million USD. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20532978_2,00.html Sounds about right given the actors/actresses (well, mainly only Scarlett, I don't think Cobie Smulders commands an extreme fee) involved and the enormous scale of this production.
Our theatre sells bottled coke products and water, so if you walk in with that you are pretty set. As for additional snacks, the girlfriend always has her purse for chocolate and if you have been shopping at all that day (cinema is at the mall) you can stuff chips in there, and it ain't nobody's bidness. The only downside is that my girlfriend is half a retard and loves fresh popcorn, so we usually buy it anyways.
Were they black? I mean, I'm no racist (or SFC) but me and mattbrat went to KFC after seeing Oceansize once and we were the only white people in there.
I'm a sucker for a bag of fresh popcorn and drowning it in melted butter, with more salt than I know what to do with. I love it. I just hate paying 12 bucks for a $0.004 product. They even charge me an extra 50c just for real butter.
I do love the popcorn, so I guess I am partially guilty. And yes fuck the real butter. It is 75c here, and I always get the dill pickle flavour powder, which is another dollar.
SPOILER: http://www.movieweb.com/news/marvels-the-avengers-second-post-credit-sequence-spoiler-photo If you're European and you've already seen it, you might really want to check this out. Americunts and everyone else can wait until after the credits, since this was only left out in European theaters.
