All I've seen posted from this show has been heavy on the PLOT, if you catch my drift.

You might like FMP Fumoffu better. That's more of a humorous series set mostly in school, and Sousuke still has his weapons (hilarity ensues).

Yeah episode one of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt was pretty cool. I think I'll stick with this.

I read the Manga... it was goddam amazing. If you really dig Monster and are open to the idea of reading manga, I would suggest checking out 20th Century Boys. One of the best stories I've ever read.

The Steins;Gate fans in this thread will probably want to know that the OVA included in the Blu-ray has been subbed, and was pretty good. Your basic vacation OVA, but it's definitely still worth watching.

man. that was utterly satisfying and totally worth watching all the way through. every time it seemed like the show was going off on a tangent, introducing unimportant sub-characters, or maybe even showing filler... it always proved me wrong. every character became somebody worth being attached to, and caring about their fate. every sub-character ends up having a pivotal role. the development arcs of the "antagonists" (loyalties of course being a fickle thing) especially were so well thought-out, perhaps until a few introduced towards the end. and I don't feel like I was cheaped or shorted on what they end up doing to explain the core of the mystery - it wasn't super mind-boggling, it wasn't super complex, but it made sense and was consistent with the motivations of all the characters throughout the show.

man. there were so many feel-good, fist-pumping moments in the last few episodes. I could give more details on my thoughts in spoiler tags if anyone cares.

Dude... no joke if you think that was good... you ought to read 20th Century Boys (Naoki Urasawa). Same exact style... just a more epic story.

Judging by the activity of this thread, i might be the last one here to still keep up with /a/

Anyone hyped up for part 2 of fate/zero? Not that you should be watching it unless you played the VN.

I don't keep up with currently-running shows. I like to watch things when they're done. Also, /a/ is full of buttheads who like to kiss their own butts.

I'm watching Mawaru Penguindrum right now and goddamn it's cool. I love the style. Plot seems to be unraveling at a nice pace too. Certainly a unique little show.

By the way 5/8, you should be reading It's not my fault that i'm not popular (AKA spaghetti-tan). Tomoko Kuroki is socially awkward, absurdly awkward, hillariously awkward. You first laugh at her at then you think back of how you were just like her. It hits too close to home T_T

Well I just finished and holy shit. That was one of the most random things I have ever seen but by the fourth episode I was very entertained. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to watch something more ridiculous than anything you've ever seen, or if you just wanna knock out a full anime in one sitting (it's only six episodes long).

I thought it was okay. It seemed like it was trying way too hard to be "look how weird and zany this show is".

personally it didn't really seem to be trying hard at all, just emanating with no filter whatever weirdness the creators had in themselves

Sooo, I told myself I wasn't going to post too much about shows that I complete, since I know you guys have had the same conversations regarding them several times over the past couple years, and I'd hate to bring up a stale conversation. But I have to make an exception for Elfen Lied. I fucking cried...like, I've teared up a few times in the past, but I was bawling. That has never happened to me before. It was when
Lucy was apologizing at the very end of the show and Kouta said he still loved her

That anime was one of the most incredible, heart-wrenching things I've ever seen. I haven't felt that emotionally invested into something for a long time. God dammit.

Elfen Lied is great. However, don't make the mistake of picking up the manga. It's just... wrong man.

Yeah that's what I heard. I am forcing myself to not look stuff up online about it anymore (which is something I generally do after watching something mindblowing), especially the ending. I accidentally came across a piece of information that happens in the end of the manga that I just like to now pretend never fucking happened.

I am really curious as to what else happened that makes everyone hate the manga so much, but from what everyone says about it, I know that I'm apparently better off not knowing.

It's excellent! But it's not an easy watch, especially for someone who is not versed into the nasuverse/type-moon. Try it and see how it goes.

Mawaru Penguindrum is such a cool show. In terms of style, nothing really struck me about Brain's Base's other shows (Baccano was fucking rad, but I assumed it was mainly because of the source material) but this series gives off a really unique vibe--like something by SHAFT but a lot slicker and less gimmicky. The plot is also pretty captivating thus far. Maybe I should check out more recent stuff by them.
