She should be the vocalist for Into Eternity or someone like that, then I'd spin this a lot more.

I'm just saying the musicians supporting her in The Agonist don't excite me. She is by far the strongest component of their sound, but there are other somewhat similar bands with musicians that are far more interesting (and usually lack a good vocalist).

Stu Block is one of the best metal vocalists though.

Yes, bumping this again. This is one of the best metal albums of 2009. If not *the* best metal album of 2009. Yeah, I said it, wanna fight about it?

Holy shit. It's so much better than ...and Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep (which sucked). I'll try to get the album tomorrow.

Oh, and Alissa is so hot.

Finally got to listening to the whole new album. I'm still blown away by how much theyve improved. It's The Human Abstract all over again.

Edit: Fuck. Globus Hystericus is kicking my ass.

Alissa is a great vocalist, but the music still seems too stock to me.

Well, granted, without Alissa, this band wouldn't be much, but it's not just that she's an awesome vocalist. It's the actual melodies as well. When you add those, it's not so generic anymore.

Also, is anyone else bothered that the kick is panned left and the ride is panned right? It's annoying during the blast beats.

Its a pretty solid album and a HUGE improvement from the first album. I'm not sure if they got a different drummer, but its a huge improvement.

To a person who is decidedly not into death metal, I actually enjoyed this song. She's pretty great. The production sounds lame, especially the drums, and the music didn't really stick out that much, but she sounds great.

you can't really say anything about the skill level of the drummer when the drums are obviously quantized

this band has a great vocalist but the music is unremarkable

The drum production is most definitely the worst thing about the album. So incredibly fake and sterile, they may as well have programmed them. As for the drummer himself, I was under the impression it was a different guy to the first album, hence his actual ideas are a lot more interesting.

That being said, I still love the tits off this album.

Didn't think a 2-song EP warranted a brand new thread, but holy shit how did I not know about this?
