This is pretty good btw. It has everything I'd ever look for in a prog metal album, and I suppose I'll warm to the vocals. gg fags
Yeah despite the vocals -- which were better than on the previous one but still not ideal for your sound, in my humble opinion -- I really enjoyed this. Nice work dudes. Dat bass work.
Sweet, obtaining now. The man-on-the-street interviews vid was great; prolly gonna be my reaction too.
which song did you like the bass on best? i just ask because I did hear some cool shit, but the bass didn't seem to stick out a whole lot to me on my first listen through.
My favorite bass work is in Impetus, but maybe there's a little bias in that since it's my favorite track
So listening to this again... I don't listen to much of this kind of music anymore, but still really enjoying this. Only constructive thing I can think of is to NEVER use spoken word parts like in Impetus, I don't know if it's just me, but that really takes me out of the mood. Might be because it reminds me of Power Metal stuff from germany
what the actual fuck That has to be some kind of autocorrect shit, seriously. No inside jokes going on here.
btw it may not have come across since I'm a DT faggot, but I was trolling. I hate the spoken word in Repentance. I like the spoken word in Impetus, however. It only lasts a few seconds, and it builds up the intensity extremely well
Not just yet. The physical copies went into pressing several days ago, and the turn-around time is quick. The second we get them in they'll be straight out the door in the mail.
All of the albums have been shipped. Well...all of the ones if you live in the U.S. Mark was too lazy to fill out the customs forms, so now Brooks or myself will have to ship them out.
I downloaded this a while ago and finally got around to listening to it. Pretty okay! I'm not in love with it, but it may grow on me with more listens. Definitely some cool stuff here. BTW! Where did you guys get this pressed? What kind of deal did they give you?
Got the cd today and just finished my first listen. Holy shit, this release is a step up in every facet. I hear some Blake Richardson influence in the drumming, as well as BTBAM in the overall sound, which is to be expected since you recorded with Jamie. I'll post again with more thoughts after I get more familiar with it, but you guys did an awesome job.
Yeah, when this comes on shuffle I think it's BTBAM at first. Then I realize that the song doesn't involve me listening to 6 minutes of stuff I don't like to get to something good, and I rejoice.
I've never understood the BTBAM comparisons except for maybe a few things. But I'm glad you seem to like us better than BTBAM.
Definitely. I mean Colors is great and their new EP is good, but I can't help listening to a BTBAM song without thinking at least 6 minutes of it is them saying "let's show the scene kids we still got it!"
A couple of my favorite moments: 3:59 of Impetus. I love layered stuff like that. 2:44 of Cloudless. My favorite song overall.
I listened to this yesterday or the day before...it was much better than I had remembered during my last listen. Prog metal isn't really my thing, but this isn't generic prog metal. And honestly, I love the singer's voice now (I used to agree with the majority that said his voice didn't fit). The music is awesome, of course (dat bass, but the drums/guitar also rock).
