Roadie and 39 really blew me away. Overall really solid album! BUT GOD DAMN WHY IS TO BE THE BEST SO SHORT
It's not officially released until May 15t. Kinda hoping To Be The Best is longer and they only put the short version on the soundcloud edition
Hmm... Well I have what I believe to be the entire album, although I suppose its possible the full album is not yet out in the universe
It just seems weird that they make two really awesome songs, that obviously end WAY too soon, and then put them next to each other on the album...
Yes that is a bit odd, although I don't get why them being next to each other matters? I see it as a bit weirder that a "full" album would leak, but that two of the songs on that album were purposefully cut short for some reason (they want a hit!) and then release them as longer on another type of album?
Overanalyzing a Tenacious D album.... I will wait until the CD rip but I can already say that I watched that "Roadie" video from the Blizzcon concert way too many times.
Bottom line is they make amazing songs. And Jack Black might be one of the greatest vocalists of all time, in his own right. Fuck it. I'm getting a TENAC tattoo
I've listened to this album wayyyy too much this week. Roadie and Ballad are fuckin great, and are easily among my favourite D songs. Deth Starr is great, it's like City Hall pt.2.
Man just shut up already. They're both fantastic. You haven't even given a reason as to why Deth Starr isn't good. Blimey.
Bought this shit today. Title track is amazing (did anybody see them on Jimmy Fallon or Letterman? They performed the title track and Roadie, respectively, and rocked). The album seems short, but whatever.
Just got this last week. It's amazing. Jack's vocals are on another level. His voice on Ballad is . The songs are pretty damn rockin', and 39 is probably the funniest song I've ever heard in my life. Oh but those two songs are definitely way too short. I didn't really get To Be The Best when it was in the video because it seemed kind of anti-climactic, but now I fucking love it.
Walking funny today, thanks to the D ramming tasty grooves into all of my orifices last night. It was sold out, the D felt the love, and they gave it back.
