Old thread was gay, time for some effort posting. Facts about Starcraft II: -Real Time Strategy game that isn't as easy as LoL yet somehow less satisfying. Or something. Its really fucking good though. Single player is pretty solid and varied for an RTS, story has been raped and retconned like fuck from the old games. Multiplayer is where all the try-hards hang out. - Matchmaking for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and unranked Free For Alls. Awful custom game system as of now but there are some gems out there. - It gets you bitches - Winning is a pretty cool thing. -Losing sucks though and every single one of the races are UTTterly br0kEn FUCKIJSGIO Sadly Blizzard haven't quite caught on to the whole F2P thing and getting a copy of SC2 will still set you back around $30 to $50 depending where you live. Its worth it, I swear (ish). SC2 sites Teamliquid is pretty much all you'll ever need to be honest. r/starcraft is a drama hungry, pitchforking pile of shit that tends to send players to tourneys via donations. Really fucking bad. US Server Klonere - 445 Old US account. VintageEyes - 622 Probably really bad Protoss player Spaceman - 586 Silver level Terran, really fucking bad, and have had little to no time to play in the past three months. SEA Server Korea Server (you fucking tryhard) And to end, Artosis.
Have played every Blizzard game but SCII. I would like to, but no time recently and D3 next time we know it.
yeah unless you have time to put in I wouldn't really advise SC2 unless you have some friends to dick around in team games with
Maybe when the next expansion has come out and they have fixed all the problems with Battle.net. That said the single player is nearly worth however much you pay for it,
Me after reading the OP. Incredible Spaceman - 586 Silver level Terran, really fucking bad, and have had little to no time to play in the past three months. Come this summer, though, and I will be playing HotS like there is no tomorrow.
To the OP: - SC:BW was better in nearly every regard, especially competitive play, though to be fair, it had a lot of lifespan and maybe sc2 will bring us the same kind of memorable gameplay we saw in BW. And battle.net was better. and iccup. and, uhm, everything. - Matchmaking does work, and works pretty well, so long as you are moderately active in playing. Game is very non newbie friendly/ casual friendly. - Everyone who plays SC2 is a tryhard. The only place you will find non tryhards is customs, and they still tryhard. Just not as hard. - It does not, in fact, get you bitches, unless you are pro. And even then, it doesn't get you bitches. Unless you are Idra, who is as alpha as a nerd can get, and still not win a god damn thing in Korea which is the only place that counts when it comes to SC2 nerdiness. <3
It's pretty good overall. It doesn't have the whole multiple people watchin' replays together feature, or stats, or IRC-esque chatrooms. Also the custom games thing is organized instead of being a big list of shit which, surprisingly, isn't as good. None of that should discourage anyone from buying the game, however.
Next patch is supposed to be the biggest one to date, addressing the custom game lists and some other big beefs people have like no LAN support (itll be more of an imitation lan) etc. I know the custom game sorting thing ain't perfect but serouisly go back to the original starcraft and try to join a game, it is so unbelievably annoying to have to wait for the damned thing to refresh and race to find the game you'd like to get into before it fills up/ disconnects/already starts/explodes.
As much as I think Blizz is really fucking dumb, they are finally getting around to putting good maps in the pool. Added spaceman's and Vintage Eye's stuff.
itelebaal-001 basketbaal-1 Loved battle.net on diablo 2 <3 Tbh this one takes just as long for me to refresh the game list, if not longer. So that means you're gold zerg and plat toss then.
Current poll on TL.net (please note that I am recently not even close to being able to explain the results, since I haven't played since season 4 or whatever ): Which race is the strongest right now? : Protoss (4317) 41% Terran (3218) 31% Zerg (2980) 28%
Which is an ironic statement to me because a few months ago when I was playing consistently some people could not stop bitching about how imbalanced Terran was. I guess that recent patch really actually hurt them. And even if not I really think Blizzard is balancing the game as much as they can...it really could be a lot fucking worse. Bitching about it is basically saying "I'm not good enough to counter _____, so instead of focusing energy on improving against that factor, I'm going to bitch about imbalance" marines are still imba tho haha
Toss is definitely not the strongest race. I'm not sure why a lot of zergs feel this way(I can understand why terrans would) when they all open FFE and let the Z drone up an optimal amount. When you do that, this happens: and zerg is 200/200 by 13 mins wat. I was just reminiscing about the old battle net on diablo 2. I assume it was the same for SC1 with the rushing to get in games and all that.
yeah I mis-read, my bad. SC2 is an easy game all you have to do is hit buttons huurrr durrrr I fucking hate that line of argument and blame Idra for its prevalence, which is quite laughable considering how bad he is atm.
A reference to the current obsession with League of Legends viewing numbers in the SC2 community at the moment (it got like 220k concurrent at IEM Hanover) leading to lots of SC2 people saying how much easier LoL is to play and how noob friendly.
What people need to do is spend some well-worth-it $$ to get SC2 (a.k.a. one of the best games ever), and if they ever feel the need to play a LoL type game, they just play the SC2 Hero Attack custom game instead
My point is that Hero Attack is just one of the many awesome things SC2 has to offer, and all of them collectively make it worth the price. You can't play an LoL-type game with SC2 units and abilities for free.
you're right, you'd have to play a game meticulously and professionally designed to be a moba rather than a game with an arbitrary allegiance to another game's mechanics and assets
IEM was two weeks ago. This weekend we have the Lone Star Clash and Red Bull LAN. Next week is MLG Columbus.
MC won IEM, he beat Puma in the finals. A Belgian Protoss player called Feast made it to the Semi's was the best foreigner. IdrA didn't make it out of his group and only managed to win 1 series.
ZvP. Turtling on 3 base. Archon toilet. Once it gets to that stage of the game I can't seem to win. I don't know how I should deal with DTs at outlying expos either. Seems like a lot of money to put up 3 or 4 spines and a spore at each one.
Yeah maybe not allin but perhaps being more aggressive early on will help. Toss is weaker early-game. Sentries will be a pain in the ass for you though.
Does anyone log the data from who win's actual SC2 games. Would be ridiculous to use quantitative statistics to demonstrate which specific race is generally superior and what methods.

Think I'll just do this tbh. Really fucking annoying losing to 40APM players like this. I lost to a mech terran who turtled on 3 base and pulled off the most ridiculous scans ever to find burrowed units. His eAPM was 45 all game and mine 90 Edit: Just accidently got promoted to plat ugh. When am I supposed to scout in ZvZ. The last 3 I've played I scout on 10 and got 8 pooled(scout hit their base by 14) and this was on 2 player/cross pos maps...
Yep. What I'm aiming for right now is getting comfortable using these compositions in each match up: ZvP - ling/infestor/corruptor in ZvP but I can't get enough lings out to counter the early 2 base timings. Would it be a strategy loss going for lings against these?I want to try baneling drops too. ZvT - Ling/Infestor into ultras(and possibly banes;broods if I scout mech). This is fine at the minute because terrans don't have the APM to macro and drop at the same time in plat so I'm never under much pressure. Still not sure how I'll split my army if I get dropped in 2 places at once while pushed at the front. ZvZ - Ling/bling/muta - I've had a problem where my spire is scouted and the other guy just techs to infestor and shutdowns my mutas. Not sure what I can do about this. Double ups or single ups on lings? And is there any point in me uploading replays to TL; I expect they'll just say macro better.
