I also need to mention that the S7 finale "Summer of 4 ft. 2" is so awesome. Even though it's fairly quaint as far as Simpsons episodes go, I loved it SO MUCH from the moment of its premiere. Side bar: is it weird that I remember the original airing of episodes from 13 years ago? Anyway, I was a day over 11 years old when this ep aired, and something about it just rang very true for me. One of my all time faves for sure.

I have vivid memories of several episode airings, but I don't remember most, even though I watched it the night it aired every week up until Season 13 (when I started downloading it the night it aired over there).

I still remember the first time I laid eyes on the Simpsons.
Me and my father visited my grandparents in the evening and I always switched on TV as soon as we were there. That was almost 19 years ago and I'm pretty sure it was the first airing of the first episode here in Germany.

Another one I remember is the "Cape Fear" one and how it was blowing my mind.

Saber, was that when Simpsons was running on ZDF? I remember that. They always showed the outro with the family sitting in front of the window and the dog sitting on the couch.

    Yes, it was on ZDF.
I think it came right after Sailor Moon.

Season 20 being released on DVD before seasons 13-19 bugs the crap out of me.

If someone gifted me any of those seasons I would burn them before selling them.

But enough negativity. Lets give it up for the funniest show of all time

Worse is that apparently, there are ZERO extras except for a "preview" for the 20th anniversary special .... the special that's airing two days BEFORE the DVD comes out. :facepalm

I would've bought it for the sake of the move to HD and such, but without even commentaries on it? No way. I'm hoping they at least release a "good" version once the normal ordering of seasons is up, but people are speculating that they are going to start doing two a year to catch up (e.g. 20 and 13 this year, 21 and 14 next year, etc.)

If it means they'll finally get to releasing more than one season per year again, I'm fine without commentaries. They've been really slacking lately.

I love the commentaries, especially Season 4-9, but the others are pretty dull.

I'm pretty happy with my collection of seasons 3 through 9. I may buy 1 and 2 if I find them on sale some day.

I also remember when this first aired. I was like 7 years old and my family had VHS recorded this episode and the Hullabalooza one back to back. I watched them religiously, as well as the rest of the show.

So, who else is watching the Simpsons' 20th anniversary special tonight? 8 PM EST on FOX, an hour long, followed by a new episode. I'm really interested to see what it will cover or be about. It's done by Morgan Spurlock, so I'm pretty sure it won't just be a long clip show.

I'm starting to wonder if I should collect all the seasons, just because. Season 2 was on sale for 20 bucks the other day so I picked it up, and then I realized the only ones I don't have now are 1, 10, 11, and 12. I'm weary because I know 10 starts the decline, but I'm also a little OCD and want a "full" collection.

Best Buy had Seasons 1-12 on sale for $20 each. I would totally buy most of them if I had the money..

There are still some very good episodes in 10-12. I'm glad I bought them. I've never really cared too much for season 1, though.

I just watched "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge" for the first time in forever, and was DYING at the Marge-ified I&S episode. One of my all-time favorite moments for sure.

    "Lemonade?"
    "Please."
"I made it just for you."
