Been playing co-op with roommate. Save system is so fucking broken that I actually feel like Capcom is trying to make me lose my sanity.

I've had to pry myself away at chapter ends, so I had no idea.

It's the same as DMC4, what's the problem?

Oh and the 3:3 boss? Holy fuck was that epic. I just...wow.

I actually thought this game was going to make me eat my own words (hated the demo and retrospectively wasn't a big fan of RE 4) and it did or a while. I thought the controls could be overlooked once I really got into the action, i was actually having a blast. But now I am near the end of the temple bit and I am just bored. Does it pick up after this?

Significantly (though I loved the temple bit).

I'm up to 6-1 now, and this is some epic Resi shit right here. Love the dialogue, my favourite has been from Sheva in chapter 5
"What manner of beast is this?"

I don't dislike the temple bit. I am just sick of the whole 'pull a switch as i throw enemies at you' element. It felt like they were trying to cram in puzzles without putting any effort into it.

Started 6-1 last night after playing for about 2.5 hours before I lost steam and just wanted to relax a bit before heading to bed early. Man the
    lickers
in this game are a fucking pain in the ass to kill. I can't even imagine it on hard.

Finished 5-2 today. Holy hell awesome. The last couple of boss fights have been pretty damn incredible. The one on the boat was kinda silly though. :lol Oh man I can't wait to finish it, but I'm gonna wait til my friend can come over again and finish it off with me. It's been way more fun playing with him than on my own... though I'll probably work towards all the achievements on my own.

Yeah I just got up to the section where there is a ton of them. I was just firing grenades randomly into the thronging horde. That whole section is particularly badass because it feels more like one of the original games.

I suspect you're referring to the same section that made me post that. The one on the catwalk? The acid rounds were flying, man. Fucking intense. And yeah, the "oh shit how am I going to kill these things before they're close enough to attack me" sensation is very evocative of the original games. I love it.

I've read in so many reviews that RE5 feels nothing like a Resident Evil game, but the last third of the game feels WAY more like Resident Evil than any of RE4 ever did.

On to chapter 3 tonight for us. Though...I'm trying to keep in the RE mode until my roommate gets off work, and I've been playing Umbrella Chronicles to do that...I really hate QTE's...not a fan of em in RE5 or anything else either.

That one in the temple where you have to run from falling pillars was so damn retarded. I couldn't stop laughing at the way the characters were moving.

Last night, Enders and I played this game from 8pm until 3am, :lol

Anyway, last night this game became my favorite game of this generation...RE4 was my favorite from the last generation :ohshit

I unlocked unlimited ammo for the Pistol and Shotgun, and Zach and I are running through it on Veteran currently.

Mercenaries Mode is, as expected, better than the main game. God I love Mercenaries. Anyone up for a game some time?

Nope, playing through on Normal with Lou at the moment to get her used to the game (she's scared of Veteran haha.). She shat herself at 5:1 last night, bwahahahahaha.

Lolz. I've been through it on every difficulty except Pro -- Veteran took me 4:37. Infinite rockets :D

BTW, I have infinite ammo for:

    H&K P8 handgun
    Ithaca M37 shotgun
    SIG 556 machine gun
    H&K PSG-1 Rifle
    L. Hawk magnum
    Rockets, as mentioned

M3 is more powerful. 900 power for it compared to 550 for the Hydra... some will argue that Hydra has more range, but it's a fucking shotgun, who uses one at range? I'm not even gonna waste the money on the Hydra until I have nothing left to buy.

I love the M3, but then I love shotguns. That and rifles. I use the first one you get though, I love the chunkiness of it, reloading after every shot.

How the heck have you managed to upgrade all those weapons already, bacong? I've only managed to upgrade the first pistol and MP5, but now I have to wait until I have enough points to buy infinite ammo for the MP5. It's sweet as fock having a fully upgraded pistol with infinite ammo though. Do the same for a desert eagle and you're probably invincible.

Do you really need unlimited ammo that badly? Why don't you just aim better so you don't run out of bullets as quickly?

I have never run out of ammo in this game. It's even more difficult to run out of stuff than it was in 4.

I don't know how I'd be this far (5-3) in Pro without Infinite Ammo for something.

I don't NEED it, no, but it's fun for me.

Yeah, you don't necessarily need it, but you sure as hell need the inventory space.

I'm playing through RE4 again(I DONT CARE IF THIS ISNT THE RE4 THREAD).

I just got to the castle and FUCK, I forgot how much more stuff is on sale. I ended up buying 100k worth of stuff, selling my TMP, shotgun, and pistol, got the (L)case, semi rifle, new handgun, Riot Gun. I couldn't afford the broken butterfuly or the scope for my rifile.

Is there a reason for the scope on the rifle? It already has a scope, does it just zoom me in more or something?

When I finished my first run through I had the default pistol, first shotgun, and magnum revolver fully upgraded. I could afford the magnum with my points so i went that route. Boy oh boy am I untouchable now. I've almost got the m4ish machine gun fully upgraded, at which point that'll become Sheva's primary weapon.

Yea good decision. My first infinite ammo weapon to buy was the magnum. Made doing treasure runs a breeze and made getting s ratings on chapters easier. I just got the unlimited ammo RPG. Takes out bosses in one hit on normal.

Which weapons should I upgrade to max?

I am thinking the first pistol and the first shotgun to get to Hydra? Or should I wait for the M3 and rock that out?

The scope makes the reticule look different and allows you to zoom in a bit further. I found it to not really be worth the $ and the inventory space. Also the Riot Gun sucks, you should save up for the Striker. The TMP isn't terribly useful either by the way. You can do everything it can do with the pistol and shotgun, and you'll find more ammo for both of those guns.

Well I went and upgraded the M3 all the way first, then on my second run I finished upgrading the ithaca to get the hydra. M3 is really useful especially if it has unlimited ammo.
