Gnostic - Engineering The Rule - 4,5/5 Horrific - Your Worst Nightmare - 3,5/5 Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 3/5
Troubles - Wolf Pretty decent, will need more listens. Our Ceasing Voice -Steadied Stars In The Morphium Sky EP Awesome, epic and interesting. 4/5 Telefon Tel Aviv - Immolate Yourself I found this to be quite touching, a solid 3.5/5 on first listen. Rafael Anton Irisarri - Hopes And Past Desires EP Probably the very best Modern Classical released this year, recommended for anybody who wants to listen to calm and beautiful music.
pacificUV - longplay 2 (4.5/5) Spectral Empire - When The Only Ones Left Standing Are Statues (3.5/5) The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin (5/5)
MUSE ~ The Resistance 3/5 Would have been great if they kept up with the Queen-revival aspect of the album, and left off the ExoGenocrap shit that ruined the album....
Burzum - Belus 7.5/10 Good ideas but there's so many ways they could have been developed more. Still a really good album though.
Days of the New - III 2.5/5 I'd say repeated listens might get it up to a 3.5, but at best it's an adequate post-grunge album, but nothing spectacular. I do like it though.
edge of sanity - crimson second time i listened to it,but i listened quite distracted and with laptop speakers. possible 4.3/5 but i should listen more
Crimson...... Never has there been a better album to tack the word "solid" on. Extremely well made without being overly off-centered.
A great album but the least of the 3, IMO. My last listen: Animal Collective - Fall Be Kind EP, 4.5/5. Graze is such a killer opener, and What Would I Want? Sky has really grown on me.
The Xcerts - In The Cold Wind We Smile - 4.5/5 The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound - 4/5 I want to give The '59 Sound a higher rating, but towards the end I just want to turn it off and put Springsteen on.
Type O Negative - Slow, Deep and Hard 7/10 A fair start, and definitely their most experimental work, but it doesn't nail it like their later albums would.
Disillusion - Back to Times of Splendor - 4/5 First ever listen, pretty much a cert that it will go up to to at least 4.5 with further listens, maybe even 5.
Nokturnal Mortum - The Voice of Steel 5/5 WHAT THE FUCK?! This came out of nowhere and is one of the best albums ever. Blues guitar solos, so many flutes, riffs, horns, ugh. Much better production than they've ever done (especially the mess Goat Horns) to hear a lot of the little things. This is a magical experience, a lot of great and interesting sounds in this BM release. Highly freakin' recommended.
Laurie Spiegel--The Universe Expanding 3.5/5 I'll probably like it with more listens. Cool computer music from the late 70s.
Coheed and Cambria - Year of the Black Rainbow - 1.5/5 EDIT: Changed to RYM style ratings. Brand New - Your Favourite Weapon - 4/5
