Sigh, this game has the worst performance I have seen on a PC game in a long time. Shame on you ID.

Wow. Where did you find that? I didn't know people were having issues with texture pop-in with Rage.

It would be awfully nice of the card makers to release updated drivers that fix the issue. It would also be real nice if id released a patch setting the default config higher and allowing more graphics settings.

what's funny is that there was an amd driver release specifically for RAGE performance, but it didn't seem to do much at all for me. Furthermore, when I changed the compatibility properties on the rage.exe file from Windows 7 to Windows 98/ME, it actually improved things, meaning I could actually take a few steps! It's still terrible though with the slowdown and texture popping, so i'll just wait.

That texture popping is so bad that they may as well have just used the Unreal 3 Engine :tard

Has anyone played this on PS3? The game looks really fantastic and I'd love to play it, but are the "serious" graphics issues everyone but kid_gloves seems to be having present on consoles, too? I noticed the Metacritic rating was significantly higher for PS3 than 360 or PC.

You imagine consoles don't have those issues?

Console versions (PS3 included) still have technical problems, but not near as bad as the PC version. If you do a lot of 180 turns the texture pop problems are noticeable, but I didn't really see much of it while just playing the game normally.

Its a slight pain but if you just find a config file that somewhat matches your specs the game runs smooth with no issues. I believe they defaulted most of the graphics values much higher since the recent patch and added vsync, texture sizes, and other things to the graphics settings in game as well. I haven't fooled with them since the config im using works so well.

The game isnt buggy at all really, the issues are pretty much entirely drivers and poor system detection for the automatic graphics adjustments (exasperated by older or not tuned drivers). It took me 10 minutes to get it running awesome.

okay so I played about an hour and I really don't like this, for the same reasons I didn't like Borderlands (playing connect the dots on a pretty boring map) - can I expect anything different if I keep playing?

I play with an nVIDIA GTX 550ti and I notice little to no texture pop issues, and that's it.
