It must be difficult to find information out about a port of a game from 5 years ago which is a port of a game from 8 years ago. Certainly no reviews or discussion threads exist for it.
Sorry if I'd rather post on a discussion board in a thread for the console its coming out on and get the opinions of people I'm more familiar with.
If you enjoy punishingly difficult action-adventure games, then yes it's worth it. The game demands mastery of its controls to have any sort of fun with...if you go in thinking God of War-esque button mashing you will regret your purchase immediately. Although I heard they added a dumbed down game mode to it so even if you suck at those types of games you can still have a bit of fun.
I'll see what I can afford on release day. It's between that and Rayman. Really wanna get Escape Plan too.
Yeah it makes me sad too. but note: http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-vita/escape-plan/critic-reviews Jim is the only one who seems to have problems with the controls. He also had the same problem with Phantom Hourglass, and a lot of people dont agree with him on that one.
The Final Fantasy X remake is now a remaster. Fucking Square. They better add new content. http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1218011p1.html
It pissed me off when I heard they were remaking that anyway. Remake that when practically everyone is begging for a FF7 remake ? Okay then.
I don't think they ever actually said it was a remake, I was always confused as to why people thought it was. It seems to me it was obviously a HD remaster like the many others we have seen recently. Anways I think its one of the most fun to play FF games and I would love to play it on the vita. I don't care about new content (its always some stupid bonus dungeon anyways) what I really want (but wont get) is for them to recast and rerecord dialogue for yuna and tidus.
Yeah I'm not fussed about extra content either. New voice acting, I can get behind though. I'd like to play it again, I just dont think it's as good as any of the PS1 games. A remake or remaster of either of those 3 would be perfect I think.
Midnight launch for this tomorrow...should be fun times. And after all that shit I said last week, I went and bought the 32 GB memory card. I had my PSP Go filled to capacity (16 GB) so I figure it won't be very hard to fill up twice the capacity when the games are double, even triple the sizes of PSP games.
Nice. I'm not sure what size card I'm gonna get. Will probably just be 8gb til I can afford something better. I'm so excited for this shit. Hopefully you'll enjoy this more than your 3DS. :P
I will. I'm a little pissed at the moment though because I traded in my PSP Go and while I formatted the memory and all that, I forgot to un-tether the system from my PSN account. You can only do this by connecting the system to your PC, and I no longer have the system. That shit is just sitting there wasting one of my activation slots now.
Talked my mom into buying one of these to replace my original fat psp for me and my brother, shit's gonna be sweet. I'm keeping my old one too, since I already have it homebrewed with a shitton of ps1 games on it. Definitely gonna keep this one normal and not crack it.
Bought Rayman Origins and Lumines last night on PSN so today I can immediately grab em when ai pick up my Vita. So stoked.
Bought FIFA and Uncharted, and an 8gb card. The bundle also included a £15 PSN voucher so I bought Escape Plan and also downloaded GTA Vice City Stories and FF Dissidia.
Oh my god this console is exploding my BALLS. FIFA is awesome, it's just as good as the console versions even if it lacks a few of 12s features. Uncharted looks and plays amazingly. I might have ruined the screen by spaffing on it.
One thing I don't like is that you can actually put the charger cable in the Vita backwards and it won't charge it. Last night I was playing it for a while and the battery got low, then when I went to go out I plugged in the cable and left it there thinking it was charging. When I got back and unplugged it I noticed the battery was still low. Figured out what happened and it most likely won't happen to me again, but they really should have keyed it so you can only plug it in the right way.
Yeah, amazing console. Froze up on me once so far when trying to put it to sleep, but that's my only complaint. The lowest brightness is still bright as hell and it actually makes the battery last a respectable amount of time. Everything about this thing is well-planned and it really feels like a sophisticated piece of tech (cough, Nintendo, cough). Nafgorp is happy.
Yeah I really hope they keep the software library strong for this thing. Like the selection so far and excited for a nice few things on the horizon.
Anyone get a case for this? I forgot to ask about that at the store. Not always easy to find good cases for things like this early on.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Licens...KBY6/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1330031742&sr=8-8 It's a bit big but it keeps it well protected and has space for game cards and memory cards.
The size of this thing makes the case situation a little confusing. It definitely needs some kind of protection, but at the same time it's already such a gigantic thing that a case just makes carrying it around that much more pointless with the added size/weight/etc. I tried carrying it around in my inside jacket pocket today with just the screen protector on it, and it fit but I felt like I was smuggling a newborn baby in my jacket.
Yeah it's definitely not for pockets. But if I wanna take it out, I don't wanna put it in my bag bumping around with other items unprotected so I don't mind. If its going in my bag anyway, I don't mind it taking up a bit more space.
What is the PSP version of Persona 3 like? I played the game back when it was first released for PS2 but I'd like to play it again.
It has the option of a femaile main character, some additional gameplay bits (social links, activities). The school and non combat sections have no character control (3d movement etc) its menu based and much faster because of it. The tower is pretty much the same as the ps2 version. In combat you can control all the characters now instead of just the 1 and AI controlling the rest, which makes combat easier... but they also ramped up the difficulty overall to compensate. It also has new music for parts of the game, most of which I actually prefer to the ps2 version. Its awesome.
Fuck I want Persona 3 Portable so bad. £27.99 is too much for me though. When it gets cheaper, I'll be right on that.
Just found out I'mma have some extra tax money. Can everyone who owns one of these things and has played in a decent amount sum up their thoughts on why it'd be worth getting this at launch? We haven't had returns or trade ins at the store yet so I assume it's good stuff.
