This is me with Mike Shannon, who built my guitar about 22 years ago. Godin Freeway Fender Acoustic Electric I don't have any pics on my comp of me w/ my fender standard strat or my yamaha rbx bass.
My live guitars: Jackson Dinky DXMG-L Schecter Blackjack Diamond Series Lefty I've also got a black Epiphone SG that I'm gonna sell, an Ibanez Gio that I practice at home on, and a Fender 95 Lefty that I'll probably sell
Jackson Soloist, Dark metallic grey with silver stripes, one humbucker (was Jackson J-80 originally, then a previous owner put some kind of duncan, then I put on an EMG-81 and replaced the coil splitter with a tone knob). Floyd Rose. Creme binding. The fretboard is rosewood... either Brazilian or Indian... whichever is less common. Neck thru, obviously.
Love the honeyburst LP. The soloists they made back then are kickass! Much fatter neck than what they have now. It's almost like a Gibson neck. The fretjob is amazing, too. Best fretjob on a fat neck guitar I've played. It bothers me how skinny the jackson necks are now!

Hehe I still remember the pants creamage that took place when i first saw it. You'd never believe the story... A computer teacher at my school liked me and knew I play guitar, since she'd seen me walking around with my case. Well, one day she tells me that her son asked her to sell his guitar and amp for him. I told her I was looking for a new amp, but not a guitar and she said I'd rather sell both together. I went to her class to take a look. The amp was a really lousy solid state 60w Samick. Then I opened the guitar case and saw this thing. It seemed like it had been in the case for YEARS and the case even smelled funny (which turned out to be because there was a cork lining to the backplate). Still, it looked so awesome!! The most metal guitar!! I picked it up, and it weighed a ton. Still, i liked the feel, especially how easy it was to fret on the neck. I got to take it home to try out, and my sisters friend, my guitar mentor, looked at it and told me he was pretty sure it was a custom shop from the 80's, possibly from the San Dimas days. For the next few days, I'd close my eyes and see that guitar! Well, the teacher was selling the guitar with the amp for $300... needless to say I bought it! Best purchase I ever made. I don't think it's worth any crazy price, given that there's still San Dimas models floating around which are less dinged up than this, but it is irreplaceable, and very special to me. It IS a San Dimas, btw, from 85. I love it. It's still one of the best feeling guitars that I've ever played! Very resonant, wonderful neck, good sustain. I'd say it's on the level of a jem or an anderson. Mike Shannon was pretty psyched when i showed the guitar to him. He seemed proud of his work, and amazed that the guitar held up so long. I got the impression that he doesn't see guitars from those days that much any more. It was a very cool moment.

Carvin DC127 w/ black stain on quilted maple finish. Pickups- Neck: H22N Alan Holdsworth Signature, Bridge: M22SD Super Sustain. (These pictures aren't great, but it's the only close-ups I have). In Action: For some reason it looks brown in a lot of pictures...but it really isn't.
How do you like it? Is it the neck through model? How's the sustain and overall, the feel of the neck. I am tempted to get a carvin so I can have a piezo guitar on MY terms.

I absolutely love it. My guitar instructor has a very similar one and after I played it a few times, I completely fell in love with the feel. The neck is so smooth, and it's by far the fastest thing I've played that I can remember (although I haven't played A LOT of high end guitars, so yeah). I had a Les Paul before so obviously the difference was more than noticeable, but I can run through scales/arpeggios/anything really so much faster and with much more comfort. The neck through is great and has excellent sustain. And in addition to that, the customization of it is through the roof. I had fun picking my favorite finish, as well as little bonuses like strap-locks pre-installed (very convenient), string saver saddles (BEST decision of my life), stainless steel frets, the pick-up combinations, hardware options, etc. It's just so freaking great. I recommend playing one first if you can, but if you can't and you're really feeling it, order one...I really...REALLY doubt you'll regret it.
Everybody has such amazingly sexy guitars. I don't have any actual pictures of my guitars, but here's a few from Ibanez:
I would recommend going to a shop that stocks them and playing one- You'll see the difference between the Carvin and other similarly priced guitars I've had mine for a week and I love it- It plays great, the neck is smooth, it's well set up, the pickups are mighty, theres so many electronics options with the DC200/400 because you get an active/passive combo- one flick of a switch and teh passive pickups turn active, flicking another switch turns the humbuckers into a singlecoil, with both pickups selected (selector switch in the middle, you can use the phase invert switch which makes both pickups out of phase, and you get a really thin soft tone from the guitar. It's fully customisable, so you can have the guitar you want. The finish is amazing (I got the blueburst on quilted maple for the body and headstock). They have a full 5 year warranty for the guitar. It is impeccable.
I checked (they said it was) the only english Carvin dealer, I gave them my specs, and they quoted me £2000 ($4000). So I got my uncle who lives in America to get me one, and that cost me $1500 (about £750)
Haha that is pretty sweet! I will try to find someone who has a Carvin, and try it out. I don't need another guitar and won't buy one for some time. When I do, I want it to be pretty much perfect in every way.
Don't have any actual pics of my guitars. So had to search on 'tinternet My current guitar, a BC Rich Metal Master Warlock: The guitar I have ordered and should arrive in a week or so, a Schecter Hell Raiser C-1 F-R:
I'm too lazy to snap a picture, transfer and upload right now, so here's a pic from musicians friend. Its an ESP F-400 with EMG's
