I'm just playing this with the new comp...it's just AMAZING:

This is 1280*1024 at Medium specs. The physics for this game are just insane. It's awesome that you can interact with whatever you want and you have free liberty to get to some point. And man, the water :eek :eek

Note: the game looks much more amazing than this crappy screenshot tho...

So did the final release still have the not-fully-maximised graphics settings that the leak had? Will I still have to hax0r my way to the best settings?

I have been playing the single player, its really fun so far. I was expecting to be disappointed from some negative hype but its a pretty interesting experience. Most FPS's are so linear with the level design so its pretty fun to be literally out on a huge island. I am amazed at how vital being stealthy is. If you just run in trying to be rambo you get taken down so quickly unless you have a vehicle with a turret gun.

If you haven't gotten there yet, just wait until you get the the level called Assault, and then the one after it.

Two of the most intense and amazing levels I've ever played in any game.

man I'm stuck, I have to infiltrate in a Korean camp but this helicopter would come and fuck me up. Am I suppose to get a rocket launcher in the camp and then destroy the fuck out of that heli?

I only played the demo of Crysis but the gameplay didn't seem nearly as good as Farcry. I guess maybe the demo isn't a good enough representation of the game but I was really looking forward to this game and found myself pretty bored after 10 minutes.

I think I remember something like that. If you can't out-run the helicopter, then yes, there will be a rocket launcher nearby. Especially if it's a Korean camp, there's bound to be at least a couple somewhere.

I don't see how you could think that, considering that Crysis' gameplay has literally everything that Far Cry's does, with the addition of the suit powers that dramatically change your tactics and give you a whole hell of a lot of more options. Not to mention the fact that there's destroyable foliage that you can use to cut off enemies, and that enemies can't magically see through bushes like they could in Far Cry.

But yes, even after that first level that does everything I mentioned and more, the game picks up dramatically, with every single level getting better and better for the next 8-10 hours of gameplay, until what some people consider a relatively weak final third of the game. I agree that the final couple levels are weaker than the first 2/3 of the game, but they were still amazing compared to most other games. Just not compared to the rest of Crysis.

The game got a bad rap because of the supermodel syndrome - if something's beautiful, you automatically assume that it's stupid. On the contrary, Crysis is an absolutely incredible, groundbreaking game for countless reasons besides its graphics and technology.

I just love the suit thing, it's amazing. Sometimes it looks like I am Predator.

If you are at the part where I just was and you are looking for the excavation site, I happened to have a rocket launcher with me from destroying those tanks, but there are a few more launchers in a little hut near the bridge that crosses that big crevasse.

Is there a good way to sneak up and get undetected melee kills? So many times I have been able to sneak up on people only to have to shoot them anyway because I can't knock them out.

Sneaking up on people can be pretty tricky, as they can hear you walking around even when you're cloaked.

But sneaking up on tanks is easier. I love sneaking up, planting some C4 on a tank, and then blowing it to hell :p

    finally passed that part

I am right now in the reunion point where I'm supposed to be picked by a kick ass helicopter/aircraft but I have to "clean" the area first. Those fuckers won't leave me alone. Man this games stresses the shit out of me

Last night i got stuck where i was being chased down by a helicopter and it gave me a checkpoint as i was being fired upon so that immediately when I load the checkpoint I die from helicopter fire. I think Im gonna have to go back to my previous save which was over 15 min earlier in game time :(

There's one point in the game, don't remember what level it is, where you sneak into a room where there's a teleconference going on. At the end of the meeting,

    everyone gets frozen

Anyway, after that scene, you escape from the room and it's nighttime when you get back outside into the jungle. Right at that point, I found a boat and took the boat down a river. The best part? I jumped the boat off a fucking waterfall while a helicopter was chasing me. It was so damn cool!

This is the part that I am on, and I did the same thing with the boat and the helicopter, but then my boat got stuck on a piece of land which forced me to go on foot, and then I got stuck in the middle of a river/lake thing with low health and keep dying from the helicopter. Did you just stay in the boat the whole time? I need to redo it anyway since the stupid auto save that wrote over my own save file totally screwed me.

I've been wanting to play this, except I don't own a flux capacitator and 1.9 jigawatt power sources. Or know anyone that does.

luckily all you really need is a decent cpu/mobo setup, 2 gb ram, and a new gen video card like an 8800gt, 8800gts, etc.

I can run BF2 on lowest graphics. With 3-5 minute loading times. That's my pride and joy.

It's probably best to replay the boat jump over the waterfall, because it's a lot easier going by boat than by foot.

Ya I think I will just replay it. By the way, if you have a laser sight on your gun, can the enemies see the laser? It looks sweet but Im always afraid of them seeing it. Also do you ever get a silenced sniper rifle? I would love to find one since the precision rifle is so damn loud

Yep I used that boat too, but after some time I had to get off the boat or the heli would fuck me up. I got to the extraction point by running and hiding in the woods

I suggest using f5 to quick save from time to time. And Yes to the laser question, right before taking the boat, you're in the woods and you can see the korean bastards with their laser points too! You can see their laser points as well as they can see yours.

so Im playing through assault now..

OMG what a bad ass mission. I am cloaking around stealing explosives, running through the island to find a good attack point on the AAA's, and then cloaking from rock to rock until I can sneak up to the AAA and plant my c4. Then everyones like WTF is going on! shoot him! and I just re-cloak and get the fuck out of there until I am far enough away, whip out my detonator and watch it get blown to hell. Ninja x 10000

You're just right before me, now you will have to blow a big ship with air support help.

I'm still at the tank battle..
