Picked up an Oliva Serie O to try out tonight. I've wanted to try out a cigar for awhile now, so hopefully this will be good.

I haven't had a cigar in forever. It's hard to find people who want to do it with me, and smoking anything by myself makes me feel like a fag.

    Cigars are inherently social.
Smoking a pipe is more conducive to solitary smoking. I often smoke a pipe during my lunch breaks.

Myself and my roommates all smoke cigarettes, and when we start grilling up some food tonight and whatnot, we'll all be on the porch for about five eternities anyways, so I figure that will naturally give me time and the environment to smoke a cigar.

I'm not a fan of cigarettes. Menthols taste okay, but I wouldn't even have the funds to get them often as I would want to anyway.

Menthol is disgusting. I mean, cigarettes on the whole are pretty unappealing considering the additives in them, but menthol in particular are gross.

Even since clove cigarettes got banned (because the clove "cigars" suck dick), I've sort of hopped around from brand to brand for cigarettes. Even then, me smoking is sort of on and off again. The one brand that stuck out to me was Nat Sherman, but I don't really want to pay 8.50+tax per box when I get some major brand like Camel for about 4.50. :x

How do you get Camels so cheap?

I live in the South, mostly.

Also, finally finished off that Oliva. Took a good long while, but I was outside with good friends, listening to some good tunes and having a good time. So awesome. Good cigar. Took me a few minutes to get used to it, but totally worth it.

the O is fantastic smoke, and a steal for 6ish bucks.

i'll smoke one tonight if the shop got them in again. if not...well i don't know. something good for sure. :)

smoked one of my few remaining Padilla Obsidian's on Labor day. so fucking sublime.

I had to pay 8.50 for the O, but I'm not too terribly upset over it. I think there are a few other cigar shops around downtown that I should check out. The one I went to I only know about because it's the cheapest place to get Nat Shermans.

yeah i guess it does depend on where you buy them.

but it's totally worth it for that price-tag too.

Nat Sherman's are pretty bland and boring imeo.

try a Torano Exodus 1959 next. :naughty

I like how smooth NS cigarettes are, but sometimes I want something a little more harsh. Although I'm currently in a phase where I'm apathetic about cigarettes unless I'm drinking. Eh.

Friend coming down from Delaware for a visit on the 19th, so I think around then it'll be time for another cigar. Fuck yeah.

You're not much better off health-wise, if that's what you're getting at.

oh and i misremembered, the Oliva V is the new amazing one, but the O was cigar of the year a few years ago, so it's no slouch either. :hm

I did pick up an Oliva V Belicoso and a Romeo y Julieta 1875 Robusto yesterday though. I've really only had larger sized smokes, so I want to try out a smaller smoke with a cheaper brand that I'm okay with.

Fiancee's uncle was dishing out free cigars last night, so I tried an Arturo Fuente Short Story. Nice, smooth, quick smoke with lovely and filling flavor.
