Yeah, they definitely peaked with Annihilation, but if they keep putting out solid albums with a couple gems I'll be pretty happy. I mean, Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld is one of their best songs.
Eh, it seems like on the last few albums they have like 2 or 3 really great songs and then the rest is just BLAST BLAST BLAST.
That was pretty weird dudes. They've needed to change it up for a while now, but I'm not sure about those weird harsh vocals that dominate most of the song. The cleans were actually a pleasant surprise though, either way at least it was something different.
I listened to it a couple of times and it actually grew on me pretty fast. It certainly sounds very unique. If they can pull this off it could end up giving them a new lease of life. I always thought they'd have to change their sound up eventually, but even i didn't think they'd have as many brilliant albums in them as they have released. Easily one of the most consistent death metal bands of the past decade.
Those samples sound fucking awesome, really looking forward to hearing this. Great to see they appear to be going for something a little different vocal wise - judging from the samples and the track they previewed it's going to work really well. Edit - the vocals in 'The Gods Who Light Up the Sky At the Gate of Sethu' sound particularly badass.
Getting so pumped for this album Listening to Amongst The Catacombs atm, hardcore underrated. That SMB3 airship music.

So I've had a couple listens and very little is grabbing me. Their formula is just so incredibly stale at this point.
