Coming out in November, according to IMdB

They picked a lot of pretty visuals for the trailer. Seems like a tough book to bring to the screen.
    The book was :ihat:yap.

If anything it'll probably be the most visually impressive film of the year. I'm always up for more Ang Lee.

It looks like a tear-jerker in one of those OMG LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL CAN'T YOU SEE IT kind of way that makes me hate myself when I fall for it.

I wouldn't make any special effort to get to it, especially if Ang Lee does the work of actually extracting the good parts for us. I personally couldn't stand Martel's writing style. The book won some big prizes and has tons of fans, but the ham-fisted religious lessons at the beginning had me cringing. But...people read, watch and love all kinds of crap, and most don't seem to have a problem with the way the words are put together in that book.

I hate religion and the overall message of the book, and yet I still loved reading it. This should be interesting.

It's been a while since I've read it, but I'm somewhat perplexed by the trailer scenes of Patel forming some kind of touching bond with the tiger (given the, uh, ending).

It was really good. I don't expect 5/8 to like it though.
