"Muslim business leader: 'This has hand of the divine written over it'" In other words, blame God directly!
I love how the building will include a swimming pool, a restaurant (non-halal I guess), and I think shops. IOW all things that fundamentalists would condemn because they represent Western lifestyle.
because swimming, restaurants, and shops don't exist outisde of Western countries... Also, what makes you say that the food would be non-halal?
I was talking about fundamentalist Muslims bro. People who would only allow their women to even use a public bath if they wore a full burqa I simply assumed it. I read somewhere that it would be open to all kinds of shops, not like an exclusively Muslim project.
The Obama Administration Has No Position on the Ground Zero Mosque … can't believe i voted for this limp-wristed faggot.
Cool strawman, bro. But yes, I would rather have Sarah Palin; at least take a fucking side so I know where you stand. This limp-wristed faggotry is not exactly the "audacity of hope" that I voted for.
Sarah Palin would probably show up personally to voice her disgust at the Muslim part of the population
whoever's building this is a strong troll it's like building a german pride & history museum next to a holocaust memorial
I was listening to a conservative radio station and the guy was emphatic that he was not islamophobic for not wanting this [strike]mosque[/strike] community center. Then he made the analogy that building this (non-extremist, non-correlated to 9/11) [strike]mosque[/strike] community center near the ground zero site was like building a pro-Hitler gift shop next to a Holocaust memorial. Pro-tip: when you compare everyday Islam to being pro-Nazi, you are an islamophobe.
Well no shit. He wouldn't make the same argument against erecting a church in OKC. It's not about "sensitivity to the victims," teabaggers think that shit is P.C. anyway.
Considering the purpose of the organization building this community center (it's not a mosque) near (it's not on) Ground Zero is to bridge relationships between Muslims and the West, it would probably be most comparable to building a Center for German-Jewish Healing two blocks down from a Holocaust memorial.
I think it would be equally offensive/stupid if they built a Christian church, or any other sort of religious institution for that matter.
