you traded a reliable German auto for an american car? (i get that they are japanese built but its mainly for the american market)
lol @ reliable german car BMWs are notorious for electrical issues, though they are mechanically usually pretty sound. Also lol @ Infinity being the blandest luxury brand That would go to Lexus easily, even though they are technically sound cars.
Yeah. I went from a 2002 to a 2008 with a lot more features. The BMW was begining to cost me money. The Infinity has a 4 year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Lexus is definitely bland, but I feel like they have a distinctive enough style that Infinity doesn't have. That and the Lexus IS is nicer looking than any Infinity model. But I wouldn't buy either, personally.
You guys are so silly. Lexus is easily the most boring Japanese luxury brand. Their cars are nice inside but make virtually no effort to make a real performance vehicle (with the sole exception of the IS-F). On the other hand, pretty much every Infinity and Acura are luxurious AND offer great performance. That said I'd rather have a BMW or Audi. But if I had to go Japanese I'd definitely get an Infiniti (the G37 coupe, especially). There's really no argument that they're more reliable than German cars, which are notoriously unreliable.
Have you seen the interior of an Acura? It looks like a moderately upgraded Honda. Worst interiors, no class, lots of buttons, cheap looking/feeling plastic parts.
Yeah, I think they are extremely nice interiors. My mom has a TL and it is way nicer inside than any German car I've been in.
Personal preference I guess, I way disagree. After sitting in and playing with all the cars at the auto show a month and a half ago, I definitely preferred the interiors (at least) of Lexus, BMW, Cadillac, and Lincoln. Exteriors are a different story, but to me the interior is way more important, because that's where I'm spending my time.
What? The CTS and the MKS have awesome interiors, and the new MKX (though I'm not a fan of crossovers) as well as the SRX are also excellent. Premium leather, classy accents, tastefully understated. Lexus succeeds in the same way.
Though I haven't seen these cars specifically, all other American cars I've been in (especially GMs) are painfully plastic-looking on the inside. We used to have a Yukon and it's nice but cheapened by the poor quality interior.
Nah, I like the exteriors a lot; they're angular and very unique. Unfortunately, the interiors are as bland and uninspiring as can be.
The shifters on both the Cadillacs and Lincolns look too close to the console. I wouldn't buy either one ever. Cadillacs suffer from poor quality made by American Union workers who only care about their benefits and time off and not about the product.
It's difficult to compare the 2002 with the 2008. The 2008 has more bells and whistles and has more horsepower. Overall, the Infinity has more power, luxury and is just a better overall vehicle. I still have this BMW, which I plan on keeping:
I wouldn't want them to die. However, it would be a great thing if trust could be established between management and the workers. The "Big Three" should have listened to Dr. Deming a long time ago when they had the chance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._Edwards_Deming
Ugh I hate how Australia gets all the sweet engines. big turbo inline 6s, big v8s. They're like america 50 years ago.
