This makes me very sad to learn. I didn't know him personally at all. But I knew who he was here and what he wrote. Always respected him and always will. I recorded a song for Austin... Where the petals don't grow.
Can't say I really knew the guy, however I send my condolences. Rip bro, hope your family is alright.
It really makes you appreciate life that much more when someone so young passes away. I'll miss you, man.
Been away for a week so I've only just seen this. Didn't know the guy at all really, but stuff like this is always sad to hear. RIP.
I just today realized what this thread meant.... I always brushed over it before, misinterpreting it as something for Han to read... Not something that was about him. Nothing to say, other than I will miss him a lot, and wish I would have known him better. He was one of those sprightly. skinny young guys that seemed so in love with the world, and rarely resorted to a lot of forum douchebaggery that's common for the most of us. Goodbye dude.
I hadn't thought about Austin in forever, the first year or so I joined the site he was definitely one of my favorite posters, I loved talking to him. This is really awful, I thoroughly regret not chatting with him any recently. He was a great guy, RIP.
That is fucking crazy. He died on my birthday. Ironically it was also the day I was taking my state exam to certify as an EMT. Where, coincidentally I learned what an Aortic dissection is. Apparently if you're not pretty much on the operating table when it happens, you're going to die. That really sucks. I remember really liking him.
Crazy indeed, my uncle had an aortic dissection about a month ago, and amazingly, he lived. Unfortunately I never interacted with Austin, but he seemed like a cool dude. R.I.P.
Well there's actually differnt ways for it to happen. Anytime your aorta is ruptured, you are bleeding very quickly. You're very lucky to survive that kind of thing.
If it's a big dissection, yes, you are very unlikely to survive. A lot of dissections aren't that big though and so most of those people do have time to go to hospital and get the surgery in time. Still find it horrible that he died at such a young age. I'm only 22 and being 18 seems like forever ago. So sad.
I didn't read the whole forum but if no one else has replied... http://www.tributes.com/show/Austin-Kerswill-89180529
I saw this 2 days ago. RIP SD. I liked that guy... really friendly person to talk to, good music taste and a positive attitude. Way too young! Anyone else notice it happened on August 5 (5/8 in Eurostyle)?
One month since we heard about it. Feels like it's way less than that. I remember how it was such a slow summer break day on IRC until ohgar asked if anyone had heard from Hanatarashi. Fucking hell. I miss him so much. My heart drops every time I'm on RYM and see how he's wishlisted an album. [/vent]
Only just saw this thread....that's truly awful. Aortic dissections are notoriously hard to catch and treat. Nobody deserves that, especially one so young. RIP.
