The way Hannah's self-absorption is written in is quite elegant. She actually verbalises that she's thinking about herself before others, and doesn't see the needs of others. Like when she goes in to buy food with Jessa and she sort of verbally runs around the fact that she doesn't actually care what Jessa is buying, but tries to follow through and sound considerate.
Ya. I agree. She's really fucking irritating and self centered. With that said, the more I think about it, the more I think that Adam is the coolest character in the show.
this episode was literally like 4 storylines that got no resolution or development whatsoever very very sloppy episode
apart from the fact that it introduced new character traits that i feel should have been mentioned before (marnie wants to/can sing, hannah had ocd), this was a great episode
I think the fucking dark expostition of Hannah's OCD was pretty ballsy for them to hit tonally, and makes perfect sense given the book deadline, and adds lots of context to her family life and her general personality. she came across as sympathetic for the first time in a while. Adam remains awesome but then yea, several different threads just kind of got going without any real resolution. I feel like if they had prefaced it with a 'part 1' or something leading to the end of the season I would have felt better about it.
lol Marnie's still upset with the fact that Charlie has had a life since their breakup. She's more hung up on him than he ever was on her.
the OCD thing was kind of a cool reveal and it definitely makes Hannah more sympathetic. Marnie on the other hand is so fucking self-centered and shallow that it makes it almost difficult to watch her scenes. I loved Charlie seeing right through her bullshit and blowing her off. Adam is terrific and it will be really interesting to see how his character evolves if this new relationship works out for him. Like he's obviously got some issues and a big theme of the show early on was just how much Hannah seemed to enable him....it will be interesting to see how close to normalcy this new chick gets him. Does anyone else feel like the show is setting up Ray and Marnie as a couple? They seem like two people who might actually be able to help each other grow
