i like how tea party peeps say things like "the founding fathers wouldn't support this" as if the founding fathers were always unanimously in agreement.
lol i love the dude in the bg of the second video with a fucking rifle on his shoulder. those crazy tea partiers!
the tea party is just an excuse for reenactors to feel normal. next thing you know, they are going to protest the tax on dragons and swords and shit.
America needs to get over its obsession with the Founding Fathers and their supposedly good intentions. They created a country where only white, land-owning males could vote and black people counted as 3/5 of a person (note it was the Northerners, not the Southerners, who didn't want to count slaves as people). Of course they were against taxes; they were rich and wanted to keep themselves that way. It has only been by twisting their rhetoric or outright changing the document they created that we have been able to create a better country. I mean, do you really think when they said 'all men are created equal" they meant blacks too? That was obviously not their original intention, considering it was written by a guy who owned slaves. So I say fuck the Founding Fathers; the only way we can be a good country is if we stop giving a shit about their bigoted, anti-freedom ideals.
if blacks would have been counted as a whole person at that time you'd prolly be up in arms against bigoted long-since-dead southerners who used their large black population as leverage to control the federal government.
