    spoilers?

edit: they're obviously VERY mild spoilers lol, but nevertheless, for consistency's sake and to keep the non-book readers from getting upset again.

you allude, a) to the fact that margarey and renly are gonna get together--season 1 leaves renly's character up in the air. then b) you allude to the fact that whatever happens between them might not last because renly is gay.

you don't actually, literally spoil anything because you don't say THESE THINGS ARE GONNA HAPPEN GUYS, but your conjecture suggests facts that do occur in Season 2 that, if dudes haven't read the books, they have no way to know, despite whether or not it's IN THE TRAILER HERP DERP.

sure it's IN THE TRAILER but that doesn't mean it's not beyond the scope of someone who hasn't read the second book

Also I know you can't be as grotesque as Tyrion is described to be on a tv show, but come on, I'd fuck this guy.

Not how I imagined Brienne at all, but I think I likened her to a female friend with a largish (muscular) build and so she became my basis for her, so she had long brown hair for me :lol

Bought the blu-rays - looks awesome, and I listened to the pilot with commentary, also enjoyable.

Australians - if you buy the blu rays at JB Hi-Fi, you get 50% off any subsequent HBO purchases. I got The Pacific and the first season of The Sopranos. Wanted Boardwalk Empire, but they didn't have any.

All of the commentaries are pretty great--the most boring one is actually by GRRM.

I loved the ones with Headey/Addy/Waldau and Dinklage/Clarke/Lloyd/Minahan.

    And the kids.

So I'm not sure how to frame this next discussion for spoilers - I don't have to spoil anything, but yeah you're not 100% safe if you haven't read atleast book 3 - benhagy'll know what to do

Jeyne Westerling's been cast in this season (doesn't get introduced until ASOS), apparently has a bigger role, and there's speculation that shit's going off canon.

Robb and Jaime have no POV in this book. For Robb, his relationship with Jeyne is pretty much just described briefly from afar and we don't see it develop. I'm guessing it's just their way of continuing Robb's storyline and keeping him in the viewers' hearts as he obviously has a big part to play even later on from this season. Similarly with Jaime, they're bringing some stuff forward from ASOS to keep his major character status alive. I'm sure they'll do a good job of it. As long as they don't go off on a completely different storyline or anything.

Gotta love how the shot at 1:18
coincides with "a shadow on the wall" spoken by Varys.

I guess one could call it
    foreshadowing.

That song makes that trailer I think. It's Florence + The Machine. I only have the album that song (Seven Devils) is from and it's my favourite song by her. The rest is alright, but not as good in my opinion.

It's the best way of doing things but they have to be careful about changing things like character motives. Specifically
moving this stuff forward will change Cat and Robb's motives for their rash mistakes as Theon's supposed murder of Bran and Rickon won't have happened yet.

The cast should form a black metal band or something.

I thought that might be the case, fair enough then lol

God this show is fucking astoundingly incredible. As far as the first season alone, it is the most well-made fantasy series ever created in my opinion. Also, it looks fucking amazing in 1080p.

    I can't wait for season 2.

because he'd always had a desire to see it, and "piss off the edge of the world".

but also, Tyrion isn't a fool, and wanted to see the state of the Nights Watch.
