#fiveeight IRC chatroom

We have a new chatroom, #fiveeight on Quakenet. This has replaced the old #dtf.com since we've been separated from DTF for years now.

To get to it, follow the following steps:

1. Read the Rules

General Rules:
No flooding
No hacking
No illegal material
No pornography
No spamming/advertising
No spreading viruses
Do not attempt to take over the channel
Keep personal attacks to a minimum
Do not be a buzzkill

These rules may be enforced by any means at the ops' disposal, which includes but is not limited to: warning messages, kick from the room, making a user unable to speak for a period of time, temporarily banning a user, permanently banning a user, and reporting a user to a QuakeNet administrator.

Should the general community determine that you are nothing but a nuisance to the chat, you may be banned without necessarily breaking any rules.

2. Either click the IRC tab, or get an IRC client
The IRC link in the navigation bar connects you to #fiveeight automatically, and if you do that you won't need to follow any more steps. But if you want to use the more advanced features offered by an IRC client, continue reading.

The most popular client is mIRC, which can be found at http://www.mirc.com . Download, install, and open it.

3. Connect to QuakeNet
To do this, type /server irc.quakenet.org or go to File-Select Server and select QuakeNet from the drag-down server list, then hit the yellow connect (lightning bolt) button.

4. Join the Five Eight Channel
To do this, type /join #fiveeight

5 (optional). Register with with the server
To do this, type /msg Q hello youremail youremail . Further instructions will be provided by the server.
