QFT. Is that Chick Corea as your avatar? If so major . I love RTF... but Jean-Luc Ponty is my favorite fusion artist.
My top 5 bands are all progressive metal, and like 7 or 8 of my top 10 definitely count as progressive in general.
Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal are what I'm most into, so I chose other because I don't choose one above the other, and just like anything progressive.
Not a genre as such, but I choose the collective entity of "prog", doesnt really make a lot of difference what style it comes from, could be rock, jazz, classical, electronica, etc... or any combination. I just like music with a lot of individuality and creativity and experimentation.
This is a difficult issue to confront, since I judge genres by their ideological approaches, rather than their productions...I suppose the one overriding theme in my tastes would be drug music...We'll leave it at Other then...
Rock, because almost everything I listen to these days is some sort of scraping of indie rock, post-rock, shoegaze or post-punk.
I'm pretty into Marxist pop (read: Stereolab) so I'd vote for that, with ethics rock (i.e. Fugazi) as a distant but still respectable second
You guys know Grand Funk, right? The shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer?
