One of my all-time favorite bands fronted by one of my all-time favorite vocalists. Time to not just appreciate, but worship!
Greatest band ever. No question. King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime is the most perfect record ever made.
They are pretty awesome. I was on a severe Faith No More kick last summer. _Angel Dust_ remains my favorite, with _FfaD, FfaL_ coming in second.
Fucking love them. I've worn my King for a Day shirt to every gig I've been to since 2005 (and I'd only been to three prior to that anyway).
No. Mr Bungle is good. Very Good (especially Disco Volante). But Faith No More are SPECIAL. There's something magical about their music.
Angel Dust is far and away their best album. Mike Patton is overrated. Very good, but very overrated. Faith No More are superior to Mr Bungle because Mr Bungle are little more than a pop-rock version of Naked City.
Angel Dust is the amateurs choice. KFAD/FFAL is where it's at. Better songs, better moods, more epic, better Patton.
Prick (Just so you know BOTH OF THESE ARE SERIOUS POSTS AND YOU ARE A FLAMING FAGGOT WHO SHITS MONKEY AIDS
Just getting into them. I've always known the singles like We Care A Lot, Epic, Easy, Last Cup, Ashes to Ashes and Stripsearch from the radio, but just picked up The Real Thing the other day and after one listen it entered my top five albums. I'm also wondering what album to get next, I kind of want Angel Dust, but I usually leave the next one I really want for my last one so I finish a band on a high note. Oh and Mike Patton is a fucking god.
This. It's a total masterpiece, and has everything you could ever want in an album. Angel Dust is amazing as well, but KFADFFAL is just god-like. Album Of The Year has some good stuff, but it's probably my least favorite of the Mike Patton-fronted Faith No More stuff. I wouldn't suggest checking out the first two albums, because Chuck Mosley was one of the worst singers I've ever heard.
Angel Dust is fantastic, i couldnt stop listening to this album when i first got into them. The Real Thing is good as well.
I could just never get into Chuck's vocals at all. How they went from someone like him to an absolutely brilliant singer like Mike just blows me away.
King for a Day is the most marvellously consistant and amazing album ever. Every song kicks at least as much ass as the one before it, and through a wide variety of styles. Angel Dust has better high points, I'll begrudgingly admit, but KFAD is just a wonderful album. Also, The Real Thing is great too, despite Mike sounding like the fish at times.
As much as I hate them for splitting up, they ended their career with one of the best closing songs ever.
I wish SOOOOOOOOO much that they could get back together. But, Mike Patton acts as if it isn't even a possibility.
Not so much these days, last quote: "Every year some young gun in a suit turns up with a suitcase of money and each year it gets harder to rfuse...I don't know...Maybe if they brought two suitcases? *laughs*" Personally, I would only want them to get back together if A) Jim Martin was the guitarist, none of his followers matched his individualism and character B) If they were only a touring concern. They left behind a really consistent and remarkable catalogue and I don't personally believe Mike Patton no longer has the more accessible sensibilities required to craft as cohesive and focussed an experimental rock album as the four Patton helmed albums were in their day.
Not sure how old this update is on their site... But this definitely sounds like they are thinking about making some new music. Oh fuck yes! http://www.fnm.com/news.shtml
My favs are in the order they were released. "Underwater Love" is possibly my favorite FNM tune. It's really hard to pick just one with all the different styles they play. I just love how everyone thinks its a song about him drowning his significant other, when in reality it is a beautifully written song about Narcissus.
Dude, that's the post they made when they announced they were getting back together. I don't think they'll make another album.
Really? I never visited their "new" site. My bad. As much as I would love some new FNM material, I don't think it'd be the same. Patton can sure as hell still put out an amazing album on his own. I just feel like that FNM vibe wouldn't carry on from the previous albums. They should do a little more touring covering their old material, and call it. I really wish he would release some more material under Peeping Tom.
