The point is that I wouldn't be. I don't do what they do, enough people like me not to ban me. I don't derail threads, and I don't spam and attempt at trolling except on rare occasions. This isn't because I dislike their opinions, it's because they are spamming, failing and not getting it.

Because I don't do these things, I most likely will not be banned based on the criteria of this system, so if I were I would deserve it...again, based on the criteria of this system, which is fair and just.

These guys are ruining threads, and they won't be banned because it's not entirely against the rules in the manner that they are doing that in. There are a lot of trolls and spammers that eventually get banned, it just takes a while for them to put out their 9th symphony of spam, if you will. This will potentially cut out the middle man, and save us some grief.

I think your complaints are better directed as "mods, please crack down on spammers". Which is a fair complaint, even though this place always fluctuates between wanting chaos and martial law. Still, no need for a new banning system IMO.

Well the underline point is that the mods can't satisfy everyone, if they ban ___ because he "trolled" or something then there will be the "why don't you ban ___ too, he trolls all the time" and etc.

    You can't complain about this.

Plus, if mods do the opposite, like "I'm only banning___ for a day even though he ___", or they don't ban him at all, we have a little bit of leeway to say "fuck that" and try our own hand at it. It's just putting some authority towards us, really.

Plus there are those people that don't cross the lines to get banned, like Cashmere and SC_F.

My point remains that there's no reason to give everyone an equal say in bannings. People will bandwagon SO fast.

Also, I can't wait for Bacong to come in and slap this stupid idea down.

There's an easy way to make those "this message is hidden" posts go away using a simple GreaseMonkey script. I can post the source code if you want it.

As for banning people, it has been done in a couple extreme cases with the decision belonging to the administration. It's not a voting issue, it is an executive decision.

I really doubt that this will be exploited, dude. If 90% of the people have to agree...I don't see that happening. You underestimate this forum a little bit it seems like.

But I agree that the mods won't even consider this, looking at the beautiful poll they made for me. Oh well.

Putting someone on your ignore list won't prevent a thread from being derailed or spam unless everyone does that, which is the equivalent of a ban.

Threads get derailed all the time, and a not insignificant number of the members occasionally like to troll / provoke people for their own entertainment.

The moderators are here to keep a lid on things within the guidelines established by the administration. Permanent ban decisions should come from the administration, not a user vote.

Everyone has tools to deal with things they don't like - the ignore user function, the report button, or just learn to recognize which treads aren't worth reading.

Lol, I love how he bitched and moaned when I banned him for sucking as a poster.

If there was a ban petition, I'm sure you'd be in the front-runners of the list, dogshit dildo.

Eh, not really. No one has a "right" to post here. If the admins want someone gone, they have every right to ban them. It's their forum. That said, if we don't like the way the admins handle things here, we're free to start our own forum as well.

Just for the record, I'm considered to be one of the more reasonable members here (hell, I was even a mod once) and I would happily and consistently vote on a Permaban Poll with the sole intention of screwing with people. I can only imagine how others would behave.
