If I pick up some good stuff I'll let you know, I have no issues helping people out if they need gear. Just started Act I Hell. This game is fun, mannnnnnnnnn.
btw, here's my Barb build if anyone's interested: Level 50, 992 Str/219 Dex/512 Vit, 13036 HP, 1894 DPS.
Let me know how you fare in Inferno. I have a barb in lower levels and I hear its shit (probably for all classes though)
Thanks dude. I was doing around that DPS at the start of Hell, and I had to upgrade in the worst way. Just found a decent 2 hand crossbow with IAS, so I'm faring a lot better than before...just wish I had the base attack speed of a 1 hander =\
While you're at around level 50 search the AH for level 60 weapons with Reduced Level Require of around 10. You'll get weapons with around 450dps for cheap, and help you through Hell a lot.
I'm currently near the end of act1 Nightmare level 35 wizard and I'm crushing 98% of what I encounter, however every now and then an elite will just kill me before I have the chance to respond. Molten/Plagued =
The only vampiric I encountered was in act 2 of normal, I could bring him down 2 1/3 health and then would have to use defensive /Armour spells while I got healed by templar. I fought him for 5 minutes and then gave up because neither of us could kill each other.
lvl 60 now, solo farming inferno without a whole lot of issue, save for a few elite pack combos that are just impossible. 12khp, 26k dps, 90% MF (close to 200 after valor stacks). made 300k from selling rares today (first day farming inferno)
i'm only in act 1, and i still die in ~2 hits. not a lot of issue means that im still kiting everything fairly successfully. 20-25k dps is enough for inferno. im up to 27k now inferno is not impossible, its more of a gear check
I'm Lvl 51, just beat the Skeleton King in Hell. My build is still working fantastically in terms of pure survivability: I change the passives around a bit, and I've got shit resistance, which I know'll need to change come later Hell/Inferno, but I've also not used the AH for much gear at all yet (none of what I'm wearing currently is from the AH), so we'll see what happens. I also plan to just make bank throughout all of hell then dump a bunch of money on gear for Inferno.
If you're wondering how I avoid the AH, I figure it's because I mostly play with a group of friends and we all share useful gear with each other.
i think my biggest issue with d3 is not being able to access the AH while in game. also, by avoiding the AH, you're only hurting yourself.
nah, i'm not playing with total avoidance in mind; i'm just trying to make a lot of money now that i've stopped buying useless crafting shit so that i can gear up with less farming to do when gearing up actually matters while leveling up, spending really any loose money on gear is sort of useless if you haven't hit a wall in game (imo at least; what's 200 higher dps really do for you when the number you have works just fine?), which i haven't yet. so i'm not hurting myself at all, i'm planning for the future.
my problem is that after i have 5x nephalem valor stacks and i dont wanna lose them just to throw a few items up/claim some gold or price check or whatever. also a repair all button within the AH would be fucking great. yeah i stopped crafting and gemming at level 5. i've been vendoring useless blues/rares and everything else gets put on a mule/listed on the AH. until the value of gold drops its silly to waste it on crafting, jewelcrafting and a bigger stash
bags after farming a1 inferno for a few hours and current stats. was able to reach around 200MF but saw no difference in drops from 137 and i had to sacrifice a lot of dps to achieve 200. +all resist = god tier stat current inferno build also before you bitch about my low reso, these are taken from my laptop
Probably do better with chain lightning runed with the wavy ball rune over the arcane orb. I've seen that used by practically every Wizard ever.
it is nice, i used it leveling through NM but its weapon damage isnt quite as high as arcane orb, and running (or at least constantly moving to dodge stuff) gives me enough time for AP to save up for an arcane orb spam. ive been stacking IAS so i can dish out a lot of damage pretty quickly before having to run again. its a kiting build and a lot of people are crying that energy armor - force armor is unfair/OP, but aside from that wizard doesnt really have much to work with defensively save for a 21k damage shield(runed), which doesnt last very long in inferno. i have to skip everything with vortex + fire chains or jailer/invulnerable/shielding affix just becuase its not worth the time dying/kiting. certain affix combos can really just fuck you in the ass
So I cleared Act I inferno pretty easily alone. No problem really. Act II is a different story and getting raped pretty good with a barb with me. I read up on my build and looks like my build was the very best up until Act II. Looks like I need to switch things around.
With my current build, I'm at 68% reduction from defense(6700ish? I don't know, it's down), 400 res all, 20k dps when frenzy is at 5 stacks. Invuln minions and shielding are all that really give me trouble. Desecration does almost nothing, as with plague. Fire chains can get a bit rough if they start having hitbox issues and spiraling around me and cutting across me with the chain(fucking annoying). I really only fear molten+nightmarish on mob types that run away like little bitches. Not that they're -hard-, but so annoying that I don't feel like bothering.
God dammit, I need this game so much. I made like $100 only working 4 hours yesterday, though. Hopefully the rest of the week is sweet and I can convinced myself to get it.
Yeah this really is an accurate post. I was actually talking to my friends this weekend and the point came up about how we missed competing for loot drops. You would often rush ahead of your friends to kill mobs first so you could be the first to see what drops. Farming can get very boring when its private loot where everything that drops is either, a grey/white which is useless, or a blue/yellow with pure random stats. Legendaries are exactly as this guy describes in this post, more of a collectible, and a hgue disappointment. On the upside, I believe blizzard is well aware of this opinion on loot and is making attempts to change it.
Yep, just takes gear. Doing from the Fields of Misery through the Butcher(brief butchering, yay!), I died maybe 10 times, 5 of which were to this ridiculous champ pack with shield molten plague desecrator AND they're berserkers, so I can't interrupt their huge attack. I gave up and ran the hell away... Only to end up going in a circle that had me going by them again. Luckily, one of them had ended up alone, so I eventually got them all. Died once to butcher due to running out of a flaming portion, only to get chained back into the flames/stunned/killed. It's really not as hard as it first seemed if you have good resistances. Granted, that's act1, act2 is even steeper. Edit: this is with almost no kiting except to be closer to a checkpoint so if I DO die, it won't result in a full reset. Just stand in there and take it like a real man(barb).
Eh, I feel like he made a few decent points, but I don't think it reflected how I feel. I hit 60 last night, but at 59 my DH learned the Nether Tentacle rune for Elemental Arrow, and holy shit. Tearing through A4 Hell mobs with no issue, with all self-found gear.
Seemed pretty spot on to me. I'll give D3 the fun action based gameplay, but the loot system is pretty one dimensional and boring. It's possible it stems from them dumbing down the leveling system. If that is the case, then it may be impossible to tweak the system to add depth. Maybe they should play around with adding unusual and unique stats to things? Bringing back interesting ways to mod and customize gear would be a great step. In any case, I don't see D3 having as much staying power as D2. Be interesting to see if they have any ideas or plans to entice players to keep playing.
I can't tell you how many times i have gotten stuck at that same exact staircase due to crazy elite mobs. I think that specific spot might be the hardest point of the game.
I'm mad and I figured buying this game would cheer me up, and my battle.net account is locked. Fuck the world.
