I did and, and they just copy pasted some crap about error 36, 35095w, etc bla bla... Here goes: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4211602545#1
who here is complaining that it isn't more like d2? I don't want another d2 i've played that one enough.
I miss the overtly gory and unsettling locales from Diablo 2. D2 was filled with torture rooms and bodies/body parts piled every which way. There's pretty much none of that in D3.
I only realized this during Act III, having forgotten much of Act I and II. But yeah, even though there's some gory stuff it still isn't as much as D2. Not that it really matters, I'm just saying...
Which OS-version do you have? Have you updated it to the last version or do you run tiger or something akin?
Say that again in nightmare when slightly undergeared for him/her/it. ;x I wiped to phase 3 on Diablo like... 20 times. Then I realized that blinding light was ridiculous and rolled him. ~_~
Act 1 with the torture dungeon of King Leoric that's blood on blood on fire in a blood red setting? Act 2 with blood trails all over Arcawhatever? The piles of corpses in the sewers? Act 3 as you go further and further down. Act 4 in the gates and the corrupted part of the place(vague for no spoiling). I admit there needs to be more like Travincal/Durant of Hate with pools/rivers of blood, but I dunno. The first expansion is quite obviously going to be Hell, so it'll probably be gruesome.
Game is fun as hell (lol) for the most part, but it blows my mind that in 12 years of development nobody at Blizzard came to the conclusion that having 90% of the drops be useless trash was a stupid, archaic idea. Blizzard is really good at polish and production, but fucking terrible at innovation and in a lot of ways this feels like an updated version of a 12 year old game. The same could be said about SC2, but at least it added a lot of nifty little tweaks to help you manage units better, queue production, etc. D3 seems to have a lot of really outdated play mechanics that I'm surprised made it out of beta. Like, is there a way to sell items in bulk? Or even drop items in bulk? I haven't been able to find a way so I'm guessing there isn't. Nothing like your whole party having to stop and clean out their inventory in the middle of a dungeon to fuck up the flow of the game. I know I shouldn't be picking up so many greys and whites, but a lot of shit I pick up by accident. Or I find purples that I do pick up but discover that they're not useful. Anyway, it doesn't ruin the game or anything, but I definitely feel like this game should feel like a much bigger step forward than it is.
Lots of loot is trash because it makes it that much more rewarding when you find a piece that isn't, imo. If nothing but good stuff dropped where'd be the fun in that? Also I dunno how far in you are, but extremely quickly you get to a point where you pretty much never pick up anything but magic items and above (and gems), and you're constantly recycling them to craft, so most of the trash never really feels that insignificant to me (except, of course, all of the nonsense white/grey stuff that drops, but again, if it didn't, there'd be less of a winning context when good stuff drops). Even if that argument doesn't hold water really (lol), the bad drops don't really bother me. Sort of comes with the territory.
It'd be nice if they actually sold for some money at the vendors though--I can imagine how expensive repairing gets in the later play throughs... it's already pretty expensive on nightmare.
The banter in this game is painfully stupid. Mainly between your character and whoever your companion is.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing so far. I like how money actually matters and can be considered a currency. I feel like I am never rich, which means I actually pick cash up when it drops. Also items not selling for any reasonable amount of money contributes to this. D2, runes just became currency. I like the health system, you have to be more careful. I enjoy being able to swap skill sets so that if I am fighting a boss, I can play a support wizard and if i'm just grinding drungeons, I can spam AOE dps. Also, I installed on mac, worked fine. I was playing at 8pm the night it came out and there were no server issues at all. If people are complaining about it what did you actually expect?
Yeah, the conversations between followers and the character need to be scaled back a bit. Maybe that's Blizzard's attempt at coaxing co-op play haha
Sorry but lame dialogue or awesome dialogue, I don't care--it beats the fuck out of adventuring with Gordon Freeman. I'm looking at you D2.
It varies with each class. Monk's use spirit aka semen. For wizards it's purplish pink, for witch doctors it's blue, etc.
I still think the original Diablo had the most gore. Some of the monsters use to really spray blood when killed (the blind demons and to a lesser extent the goat-men). And the bottom 4 levels had event horizon level stuff everywhere... Bodies that were strapped up and obviously tortured to death, limbs ripped mostly off and still hanging by a few tendons, bodies impaled by huge spears (in through the butt and out between the shoulder and head).
Am I the only one who's been getting latency ranging from 300ms to 1500ms for the past 3 days, or are they seriously still having server problems? I had no problems before the weekend.
Yeah my latency has been in the 100s these past couple days. Last week I was in the 20s. Probably just weekend traffic.
It tends to fluctuate a lot for me in the first 5-10 minutes of playing and then it settles into the 300ms range, which still seems really high.
Here is an idea, people should post their builds and how they like to use them. I think the most interesting part of this game is the diversity of which people play the same class. I joined a game with 3 witch doctors this weekend and I kid you not, none of us used a single spell in common. Had one kid running around in spirit walk and using all spirit moves, another kid using hexes and CC, and I was just summoning. Here are my two favorite builds so far. Witch Doctor Primary: Plague of Toads / Rain of Frogs Secondary: Grasp of the Dead / Death is Life 1: Summon Zombie Dogs / Final Gift 2: Sacrifice / Next of Kin 3: Wall of Zombies / Barricade or Creepers depending on the zone 4:Gargantuan / Restless Giant Passive 1) Fierce Loyalty Passive 2)Zombie Handler Passive 3) Gruesome Feast I had already sort of explained this one previuosly, but I've changed a few things up. Rain of frogs is an insaely good primary, cheap to cast, infinite range, can cast around most corners and generally if you can see the spot, you can cast on it. Damage is also awesome on it. Grasp of the dead is great CC, especially with the zombie wall. Add on the health globe drop and it really helps to beef up this build'ssurvivability/dmg. Zombie dogs with explosion is really great damage, with Final Gift and Next of kin health globes keep dropping and Dogs keep respawning. Wall of zombies is insanely good for blocking at chokepoints, especially doorways. You can spam the shit out of rain of frogs and dog epxlosions and anythnig trying to cross that line gets decimated. Gargantuan makes for a great tank and helps soak up damage and keep your dogs from dying before you can suicide them. Primary: Plague of Toads / Rain of Frogs Secondary: Grasp of the Dead / Unbreakable Grasp 1: Summon Zombie Dogs /Leeching Beasts 2: Soul Harvest /Swallow Your Soul 3: Zombie Charger / Zombie Bears 4:Big Bad Voo Doo/ Rain Dance Passive 1) Spiritual Attunement Passive 2) Vision Quest Passive 3) Tribal rites This build I learned part of from watching another player going with Big Bad Voo-Doo and then spamming the Charging Bears. The zombie bears are the highest DPS move witch doctor has by a long shot, but accordingly it is also the most expensive. They way this build functions is that you constantly keep all your cooldown abilities on their timers, this way Vision Quest and 300% mana regen stays in effect. This lets you use the zombie bears pretty often and will at the very least let you constant cast back and forth between the bears and the rain of frogs. However, when you use the Voo Doo with mana regen, you can constant cast bears and probably outdps any other class in the game. I was doing this at level 55 in hell difficulty with my friends who are 60 and geared to the teeth. Their DPS combined couldnt even touch this. Only problem is its sort of a pain to keep everything on cooldown and you really lose a lot of your utility by making your other abilities essentially throw-aways.
yeah this game is mad diverse. Me and a buddy were talking today about how we play different styles as Wizard. I'm only level 11 but right now I'm using Shock/Arcane Orb along with the AOE freeze spell and force stomp or whatever. I'll let myself get surrounded, cast freeze, do the force stomp then shock to clean up the scraps. If I have range I'll use Arcane Orb especially into crowds or I'll use it in tight on tougher enemies. I'm not even into higher levels and already find that I have choices. I love this game.
Has anyone got one of those starter/demo thingies they'd be willing to part with? Would love to try this game out.
My Wizard build is a melee version that is quite powerful due the high AOE damage it generates. This is horrible against bosses, so I swap out to a ranged version usually involving: Magic Missile, Hydra, Diamond Skin, Ice Armour. Primary: Spectral Blade Secondary: Arcane Orbit 1: Frost Nova 2: Wave of Force 3: Familiar 4: Explosive Blast Passive 1: Glass Cannon Passive 2: Prodigy
oh man, this is still funny. I think you might wanna change that opinion. No server error, no nothing..it's great )))
told you already that it didn't work with Assassins Creed, so look it up. Just wanted to keep you up to date with game security systems because you seemed so sure about that, ignoring that fact that it was already done. It's software, there will always be ways to keyboard your way out of whatever another keyboard did
