didn't pre-order yet, mainly because my apartment is so tiny I don't really have room for cd cases. I want those demos though. And I wanna support mr townsend. but mainly I'm bumping this to complain that it hasn't leaked yet :-(
Ordered that fucking cd and then threw in that fucking shirt because I fucking felt like it plus I get that baller fucking key-ring FUCK YEAH
I don't get the keyring, but I ordered the colored vinyl and the shirt. I'm ordering the CD from Newbury Comics. 13 bucks, brah.
I haven't heard any Devy since Synchestra, but the first vid in this thread makes me want this album very much. Birthday in October. Album cover reminds me of Stratovarius Infinite. Music will surely be better, though.
Yeah, but it's Devy. You know it's gotta be tongue-in-cheek. Stratovarius were just as over the top, but were super serious about it.
I just preordered from that. I wasn't sure that unplugged CD would be anywhere else, so I just got 'em both there. I'm used to preordering stuff from the UK anyway, since most of my PT albums come from Burning Shed. No biggie. I had extra sitting in my paypal anyway.
Yeah--I've been following threads on his output, I will probably go back. I've recently had a long period of buying too much music and being pissed at myself for listening to none of it with any depth, so I've put the brakes on.
some more samples http://www.amazon.com/Epicloud/dp/B...=UTF8&qid=1345134297&sr=8-5&keywords=epicloud yeeeeee lovin that Save Our Now clip Where We Belong sounds like a fuckin classic, you guys the singing on Kingdom = goosebumps More! reminds me of Resolve
I think I might be disappointed by Epicloud Granted, they're only samples but some just don't seem very good...some sound fucking amazing as well though. (Sweet, lowered my expectations so now it will be awesome when I finally listen to it in full)
It's always funny to see people expressing disappointment in something before they've even heard it. That said, I'm already pretty confident that I'm going to love this album but that's because Dev is rarely anything other than excellent.
Yeah I agree, thats why I said "I think" "I might" "only samples" "lowered expectations" then "will be awesome". Its most likely going to be a top 10 2012 release for me. Prior to these samples I thought for sure it would be #1, and perhaps top 3 Dev record for me based on the descriptions. I won't know until its out, but I'm less inclined to believe the latter will happen. Yeah, I have huge expectations for everything Devy releases and rightfully so, the man is a genius
The samples have only made me more excited. I don't know what you were expecting from this album but so far it sounds like everything I hoped it would be. Lucky Animals is okay, but everything else I've heard so far sounds way better. Which ones do you not like?
The samples are fantastic! Trying not to listen to them again to keep things fresh, but fuck, almost every song gets me so stoked for this. I thought Lucky Animals was just an ok run of the mill song when I first heard it, but of course it's been stuck in my head nonstop ever since.
I really hate listening to samples, it seems like such an awkward thing. Full song fine, but I'd rather not listen to a 30 second burst out of context.
saw this on devin's forum *spoilers ahead* Kind of a dumb review. Says it's disappointing but then says how good it is. Either way it's exciting cuz oh baby, promos are out. LEAK.
Yeah, but when a man has written music as good as Devin has, even some of his really good stuff can be a little disappointing.
I cant remember the names cos I try and avoid "spoiling" albums before I listen to them, so I didn't even listen to all the promos, nor for the full 30 seconds for some (didnt need to as I've heard 2 full songs [Where We Belong demo] and snippets of others before). I don't recall the tracks exactly, but I didn't like the really poppy sounding previews on some of the tracks. I think True North and More! were a couple, and Lucky Animals was average for me. Also disappointed that Lessons is only 1min long It stood out for me in the sampler Dev put on youtube This is probably too much analysis of samplers, as they are only samplers. Time will tell. The re-recording of Kingdom alone is worth it, that song is ageing like a fine wine
I have a solution for you faggots: stop listening to samples. This same stupid conversation happens every single thread when a band releases a new album.
Just finished, and that was pretty amazing. Way better than what I was expecting after Lucky Animals. Wow. I love the flow the whole record has.
