Couple of years ago this thread would be about 10 pages by now. I still like them as a band, but I almost never listen to them any more - it's a shame they decided to stick with the aesthetic they had on Colors, because it got old really fast.
I'm pretty excited for this album. The Parallax EP was pretty cool and I expect this full length will be better than the EP was. Not to mention the fact it clocks in at around 72 minutes. Pretty sweet.
Well, let's not forget TGM clocked in at around 70 min, and that was a pretty colossal turd. Having said that, I'm optimistic.
I love the new direction they're taking it. I hardly ever listen to the first 2 albums because they just sound like generic metalcore. I like melody.
Halle-fucking-lujah. Also, I'm all for harsh vocals, but Tommy needs to keep Cookie Monster out of the fucking studio this time around if he's going to shit all over another BTBAM album. I'd dig some thrown in for effect during big moments, but they're too good of a band to be covered up by that bullshit the whole time, and there are PLENTY of other bands doing it nowadays.
I'm not saying he should ditch it completely, because the harsh vox are cool too, I just prefer cleans most of the time. Also, please refrain from calling harsh vox "cookie monster."
Agreed. The fact that this new album is 72 minutes long only makes me less intrigued. I feel this band needs to drastically change in order for me to care anymore.
Why do people hate the new direction? It's the only reason they ever stood out. Don't lie, you didn't hear of the band until they toured with DT. Case in point.
I like their new direction when they don't inject random retarded circus sections into otherwise good songs (you could say that it's hardly surprising that one of their best albums is called The Silent Circus )
Don't know how long you've been posting with this community, but members here have been raving about the band since the self-titled album. ALASKA was a big deal around the boards and that was 2005, two years before the DT tour.
That's your opinion, man. Sure some albums suffer from the length, but some are actually put together quite well. Can't judge this record on that fact until its released. You're less intrigued because of an album's length? See above point.
Yes. 72 minutes of "The Parallax" would make me want to kill myself. And I'm afraid that's what we're getting.
sup. like i say in all btbam threads, s/t > the silent circus > alaska > colors > tgm > parallax stuff come at me, butthurt weedly weedly horse sound fans
if you ever say another bad thing about horsies I'll fucking kill you me and what army? a fucking horse army, you idiot. The last thing you'll ever hear will be horse sounds, and you'll be like "dang I wish I liked those" but seriously, sayin that tgm>parallax is just dingus level that said, I have a feeling I won't listen to the new stuff more than like twice
I'm hoping for a very fluid, organic, and dynamic 72 minutes rather than 72 minutes of growlowlowlowlow over engaging-but-constant musical insanity. We all know they have it in them.
The 3 tracks on the EP were great (my favorite release after Colors). Really looking forward to this follow up
