That sounds promising, seeing as how the game after level 30 was a cakewalk for me (minus McCloud, fuck!). I hope i have time soon to get this DLC.
I bought the DLC, downloaded it, installed it, and shut off the PS3. Playing today and when I go to the fast transport with my main character (pt 2.5, lvl 50), I don't see an entry for T-Bone Junction. WTF is going on? I'm getting pissed! e: maybe it's the update I skipped last night...
yeah the game has been super easy for me since around level 30. i have like a level 48 hunter, i put all my skill points into pistol skills, accuracy, and kill boosts and i use only revolvers (basically 1 with each different elemental damage and 1 that is just massive normal damage).... its so fucking easy lol. ive played throught the first 5-6 quests on the newest DL content and honestly... its not much more challenging at all.
Well, I played a few minutes of the DLC. Not sure I like the dust flowing over the starting area. For whatever reason it drops my FPS randomly. However... WTF that new car is useless. I died at the second mob area on the road because it just sucks. I don't die.. like.. ever.
Yeah I'd been getting slammed at that part... does shooting the tube thingy on the side of the drone spawner stop them from coming? Anyway, I realized that they are easy to deal w/ if I use Angry Death (shock shottie) and just make use of the Last Stand feature. Their APC thingy kicked my ass but if you keep distance it's ok. I think the idea is they start you with a shit vehicle and things get better...
Actually, there is one amazing thing about the new Monster. The fact that the shot explodes into new shots means that the game doesn't register them being shot by you, rather it acts as though they were shot by no one. This means you can sit at a camp(or far enough away), and just fire the shit out of the rockets and nothing will ever aggro. I cleared out this level 55 camp at 51(shouldn't have went that way) utilizing this. Also useful for all the problems I originally had. if you go slow and don't aggro the stuff yet, you can safely kill them without ever properly engaging them. However... Jesus christ this DLC is hard for Brick... even for me and my blast master rifles spec.
Have to a gree with pocemono... big pain in the ass! I left my ps3 paused for a day because I just couldn't do any more but didn't want to have to make my way from the beginning. Now I realize that when the checkpoints are down travel is a lot quicker, you can zip through the bases and the droid stations with no real problem.
Eh, not sure I've got it in me to do the corporal level of circle of duty, nor fight crawmerax. I'm at the circle now and it's so fucking cheap when the Lancer tank pops out... one fuckup and I'm dead with little hope of a second wind. I am going to try proximity mines so I can stay under adequate cover and still fuck it's world up, but I am rather tired of it.
Anyone with the Knoxx DLC, when you get to the armory there is a "glitch" that lets you hit up the loot without a time limit. Go through the door with the codes, then go to the next door that opens up (the one that slides upwards) and walk through the opening. Turn around and walk back. You should notice a slight bump. The goal is to walk towards the bump and more or less stop on it. You will fall through and be able to get as much loot as you want. You get 3 missions that let you hit the armory. I recommend selling your weapons to one of the vending machines in that level (don't travel or exit after this, as it sometimes wipes the weapons from the machine), everything but what you need to fight knoxx and his henchmen, then just go in, take what you need, kill yourself with grenades, and you're back at the beginning. Then decide what to keep, what to sell, and what to buyback. What's great is that you can THEN exit and come back and do it again, or finish the mission if you need to (it gives you more missions, except after the third time). The only thing is you have to fight all the lance guys every time you come back.
Not that anyone cares but you can fuck up the glitch above if you enter the octagonal room. If you do, find the timer and set it off before you go, otherwise when you exit you won't be able to return and you cannot finish the mission. If anyone has "It's like Christmass" or "Marcus Super Sweep" you can bail me out by letting me join your game, since right now I'm "locked out" of the mission. That way I can revert to the original setting and keep looting!
why can't i play this game for more than half an hour without getting bored? i really, really want to enjoy this.
Just played this for the first time with my friend last night (offline, 2P co-op on PS3). Seems like a game I could really get into given its bite-sized mission-based progression, RPG elements, and some cool weapons. Plus I really like the visual style of it. Pulls of cel-shading like I haven't seen it done before.
I retract this, co-op is more fun but I felt solo was more engrossing. EDIT: However Dr. Ned's addon is much better multiplayer, not played the other two DLC addons yet, but have them.
I agree - get a lot more into the quests/story by yourself than with another person. But it's way more fun co-op. I haven't played this since around march, need to try the DLC.
You're the first person I've found who agrees with me. Marry me. I actually got pretty soaked into the atmosphere of the world on my own, the desolation and hostility gets under your skin after a while, especially when you realise the only real friend you have is fucking Claptrap
This is how I feel as well. I got into this game because of co-op and thought that single-player would pale in comparison, but they're really quite close for me. At this point I've played 3 characters but none to completion (I'm sort of simultaneously working on 2): a 22 Hunter, 23 Siren, and 18 Soldier which I use for single player, online co-op, and local co-op respectively. btw I own this now because I bought a PS3 last week. It's my only game for it so far. This is my first current-gen system. Feels good man.
I actually enjoy this game much more on PC than PS3, but it's really because i'm way too used to have a keyboard to play FPS. Also, the "boss encounters" are pretty fun in this game too - I don't think i've ever really played an FPS with bosses. If you like RPGs you should get folklore, it had an interesting concept - was the first PS3 game I bought and I really liked it. (Should be cheap in a used game bin now) Molon - when's the date?
Man, this game just keeps delivering. Tons of new, wide-open areas with a shitton of missions to do... the hours I have and will sink into this are ridiculous.
There's a story at the beggining, and towards the end, but the game completely forgets about it for a good 10 hours, which is a shame because while it really is nothing special it really does drive the game for the last 5 hours at a terrific and entertaining pace, where you want to keep playing not for the sake of getting a new item or level, but to see what happens next.
I didn't mean argument in the aggressive form of the word, poor word choice on my part, I was merely making sure you were not replying to my post out of the newly edited context. I know we don't often get along in this forum, but you are actually one of my favourite posters here for pretty much always backing up your views when prompted with inteligent and well thought out reasoning
Can somebody explain the level cap(s) in this game to me and how the Downloadable Content and multiple play-throughs (New Game+) relate to that?
Level cap is 50, which you'll be hard pressed to do in walkthrough 1 (think I finished at level 34 or something, before moving on to any DLC). Level cap is raised to 61 with the Secret Armory of General Knox DLC. I have the first 3 DLCs and on playthrough 1 I'm currently at level 42 I think.
Ok. Because I'm at like 42 early on in my second playthrough and wondering if I should try downloading that pack to raise the ceiling for myself.
If you level up any more the DLC will be stupifyingly easy, I'd play through them on playthrough one before continuing playthrough 2, though I guess you could just get them and play them on walkthrough 2 straight off the bat.
Oh, I didn't realize. Well, I think I will try downloading the level-cap-increasing one tonight then.
I didn't know another DLC came out in the fall. It doesn't sound as interesting as the zombie and armory DLC though, I'll probably skip it. Has anybody played it? http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/borderlandsclaptrapsnewrobotrevolution/review.html
I'm not sure any of the DLC is really worth it. I'm glad I only paid very little for Zombie Island and Armory cause I didn't find them that entertaining.
Plus, incentives keep happening like the GOTY edition being 50% off on Steam recently. As far as DLC, I've still only played Knoxx's Armory but I enjoyed it. Only part I didn't like was that there are NO TELEPORTERS ANYWHERE FUCK. Driving back and forth between the south and north portions of the region on those long winding roads got pretty boring.
Yeah... that got old pretty fast, especially at level 61. The only part that I liked repeating was that fortress section right before the Armory level where you have to go through all the Lance soldiers because it had good drops and lots of action in a quick battle.
None of the DLC have them. I remember being really far on the Zombie Island then having to leave to go somewhere and when I got back I was at the beginning again. Fuck that. Also the zombies are annoying as fuck to kill on the DLC. Dozens upon dozens of zombies work for games like Left4Dead but the combat becomes so tedious after awhile. Even the "fuck yeah more experience" factor wears off after awhile.
COME AT ME BRO no seriously Sabre, it's great that somebody else has this for PS3. I'd love to play sometime in the next week if we can line up our timezones.
lol Saber already level 11? Haha. I am re-playing this at my friends' home, I'm currently a Level 25 Hunter, this character gets the COOLEST weapons man. I own so much with my sniper rifles and pistols and don't forget my DEADLY HAWK damn I love that bird so much Back in my PS3 I have a level 50 soldier as I totally made this game my bitch back in the time it was released. I can even say this is in my top 5 games for the ps3.
