DO NOT buy the upcoming Grindhouse BD set. They didn't even bother to include lossless audio.

    http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=5204

How stupid. There's no excuse not to include lossless audio on BD discs. There's plenty of room.

What are some of the better websites in terms of selection/pricing quality for Blu-rays? (Assuming there are any places besides a big site like Amazon. I dunno.) :3

Amazon is the best, 99% of the time. Some other places will have sales here and there, but Amazon consistently has the best prices on almost everything.

    Seems alright to me.

Lionsgate doesn't always put out bland stuff, but they do have a track record of rushing out popular films that already exist in their DVD lineup by doing no more than what appears to be a higher encode of the DVD source. In the case of recent films like this that are seeing their primary release on BD, they'll most likely be alright, especially since they were probably shot digitally and processed via high quality modern equipment.

Sometimes they do great releases, though. First thought is the Terminator 2 BD. Really impressive.

If you saw Grindhouse in theaters and loved it, pick it up. The transfer's great and the extras are awesome.

I assume he means the video quality.

But yeah, I already own the special edition Japanese box set which is very nice. If the BD is missing the lossless audio, I'm skipping.

Disney did it again. Beauty and the Beast gets a thumbs up from me. Can't wait for Fantasia and hopefully Aladdin.

Just ordered an import copy of Amelie. I had to get it. It's one of my favorite movies ever.

Oh my fucking lord, I recieved the Planet Earth complete box and after the first episode, my jaw is touching the floor. Unfuckingbelievable. :eek :eek

I just cannot imagine how great this should be with a bigger tv (Current HD tv 26") and a 5.1 audio system

Is there anything similar to these series in blu ray?

if that was a joke, I didn't get it.

I'm new to the series :grunge

By the way, I found these other BBC releases:

    http://www.blu-ray.com/search/?quic...yword=BBC&searchbutton.x=27&searchbutton.y=10

"LIFE" seems to be the latest one, anyone got it? It looks gorgeous.

Also, the Natural History Collection looks HUGE

Anyone got feedback from these two?

My BDs of Seven Samurai and Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl arrived yesterday, four days before street date :hat

Too bad I probably won't have time to view them until November.

The VG vs FG case is all fucked up, so Amazon's already sending a replacement. The art sleeve and disc are perfect, but the outer plastic sleeve that holds the paper is all torn and mangled.
