No, you idiot, drinking beer out of just any other type of glass makes it taste like absolute shit and you should feel like an idiot for not knowing that.

No; if you don't drink out of a snifter because it looks stupid, you're ignoring the beer's potential by not caring about the aroma or appearance.

I'm going to start dipping my penis tip in my beer.

If you are implying you can't get a full smell from your beer from a regular glass, I disagree.

If you are implying that beers only look nice when poured in a snifter, well then you're just fucking stupid.

You can't get the full aroma from a regular glass.

    I didn't imply that.

Edit: I take that back. If you hold the glass at a 50d angle and stick your nose into the glass itself, then you'll get the full aroma. But what looks more silly, beer in its proper glass or that?

Drink out of whatever you like. I prefer an oversized wineglass. I can put a full pounder in there. I also use regular pints, the Sam Adams perfect pint, a Delirium snifter, and a half shaker pint and 6 oz snifter for tastings. I think certain beers are better out of certain glasses, but I've never had a beer that was good in one kind of glass and bad in another. It's more of an enhancement thing. And why not?

Fuck I'm jealous. Finding eisbock around here is a pain in the ass. I'm stuck with Arrogant Bastard and Hoegaarden at the moment, bleh

I've never tried an eisbock, and I don't know that I've ever really seen one around, but it's definitely something I want to try.

There aren't a lot of eisbocks around. If you see one, jump on it.

It's the first I've ever seen it around me either, and unfortunately it's at a place that only sells singles, so it jacks the price up.

Ah, shitty. The bottle shop here charges 5 bucks for a bottle of old rasputin, and the grocery store sells a 4 pack for 9. The bottle shop carries the more rare stuff though, so I feel your pain.

It seems the past few months everywhere in town has dropped Old Ras 4 packs from $9.99 to $8.99.

If it only it wasn't fucking hot as shit here now. I can't handle the rich boldness of Old Ras in this heat.

My friend is a stout guy, the bar we went to had Old Rasputin but it had a cork and was "barrel-aged" and cost $25. What was this?

They had simply released some barrel aged rasputin in 750 ml bottles. I think it was a limited edition type thing, but i'm not sure if they are still available.

I had this, I thought it was way overdone. I like Old Ras mainly because of the way the flavors blend so nicely, and how the mouthfeel is a slow-burn type of experience. This tasted like straight alcohol to me.

I'm going to commit blasphemy and say that I'm not a huge Rasputin fan. I'd rather drink regular Obsidian Stout most nights.

This site just opened up in Hong Kong. Any of this stuff worth picking up? I don't really understand beer beyond the basics, and unfortunately this is one of the rare opportunities HK has to branch out beyond the macro-brews.

http://hopleaf.hk/beer-brands.html (for American dollars, divide by 8)

    Dead Guy
    Mocha Porter
    Chocolate stout
    Shakespeare Oatmeal

All those are great Rogues, but I usually like most anything they do. It's a shame you can't get Old Rasputin from North Coast, but try one of their variety packs. How long will they be available?

Hm, a beer that tastes like vodka sounds kind of interesting. Definitely not going to pay that much for a single bottle though, unless it's something like westvleteren

That's the thing, it had almost no qualities of actually being a beer, other than color and head. It was a rough night.

I got completely blitzed on New Holland Golden Cap on Saturday, so much that I couldn't even go to my Sunday night half off joint because I was so hungover. I haven't wanted beer since.

Who knows. There used to be something like this before, but it closed eventually because HK sucks and people don't know that Heinneken, Tsingtao and Asahi aren't the only beers around. Thanks for the recs, though!

I just got some last week. Maybe the most intense hop flavor I've ever had, above Hopslam, Lagunitas stuff, etc. It's a little much.

It's everything I could have dreamed of, and way better than last year's batch. I'd say it stands up with the Surly Abrasive and Heady Topper I had last week. Probably Heady Topper > Hoptimum > Abrasive if you made me rate.

drank my last Hopslam last night. :(

beerhaul included 3 Raging Bitches, a Storm King, a Lagunitas Imperial Red, a North Coast Old Stock Ale and a Hop Stoopid bomber.

not feeling the Raging Bitches like the last time i drank them, but it's still drinkable/drunkable.

also i had a Duck Rabbit Barleywine the other night, and didn't like it at all. super sour. like i wouldn't have been surprised if it WAS a Sour. had to choke down two bottles because my wife wouldn't drink more than two sips of hers. it was very disappointing. :( 11% though so weeeeeeeee.

In other news, there's a KBS tapping party at my very best favorite bar tomorrow AND IM NOT GOING. But it's ok, because we're having our beer co-op tasting/fundraising event! Can't wait to try all of the new brews that everyone is bringing in.

I don't think it's too sweet, but I've seen a few reviews that think that. I'm tasting a nice, rich VERY bourbon-y tasting ale. Luckily I love me some bourbon. This would be some kind of experience to drink a bomber of this alone (I split it with my fiancee with a dinner of duck with a bitchin' sauce and carrots cooked with Ed Fitz).

I was lucky enough to get 2 bottles, and I think we're gonna drink the second one after we have a kid.

Welp, see you in a few years, Better Half! <3

Also gonna drink my only bottle of KBS I managed to get this year tomorrow. Wish I got more. :(

Had a cask Storm King earlier which was rather pleasant. My girl grabbed a Flying Dog Wildeman Farmhouse IPA which i was rather impressed with. Much more belgiany than the Raging Bitch. Now to slam some Sierra Nevada cans. These are tasting pretty fucking fresh and good.
